But are they street legal?
@johnnynguyen49074 жыл бұрын
@@LouisSubearth technical any vehicle as a recreational vehicle can be street legal they just have to be able to be registered in a state and title then they can be sold across state lines. Just need a state to do it ex kit cars as for JDM cars/import cars fall under a different band but exemption permits do exist. Along with them filings as recreational or special purpose vehicle they are exempted or bypass standards set for passengers vehicles. As said befor to qualify US for goverment/military contracts you have to have US branch. So street legal context means nothing. Like military humves or duce and half arent street legal but are titled and register to a state that will, then sold over to someone to reregistered in there home state that wouldnt i know from exp.

Earthroamer is my favorite except for one major problem with them. They are NOT true 4 wheel drive. They do not have locking differentials. Earthroamer says that the drive train would NOT be able to have that much power going to all four wheels otherwise you would be breaking U-joints and drive shafts because of all the excessive weight the vehicle is carrying. Water and fuel is two of them. If I want a 4X4 vehicle I want to be able to lock the diffs if I get into a situation. Sure I could use the winch but I don't want to use a winch because I got stuck in a mud puddle.

Looks like its based on the older (1980's) MAN military chassis. That would match that engine too. Not the fastest things in the world but they run forever regardless of abuse and could still pull a house down even when fully loaded and draggin a massive trailer. They only make about 900lbs of torque but thats multiplied a lot by the box and axles. Normal cruise speed is 44-56mph but derestricted ones can hit around 80.

6.9l strt 6 cyl by man is probably more durable than anything in a dodge. Who cares about hi hp, when you get durability. Thats what counts. Man has a reputation for building quality. We Americans are married to high hp figures and raging torque we will never use in the long term.

This must be a very new company still working on getting out a production model, because apparently no one in the entire world owns an Overland, (at least not yet). I know this because I have been unable to find a single video tour of the inside of this vehicle, and there are there are only a couple of what appear to be computer generated wide angle images, and we all know that the first thing that owners of a new RV usually do is start their own KZbin channels, and film guided tours of their rigs. So if someone actually owned one of these beasts, we'd already have footage of every nook and cranny, (Remember how you you used to dread going over to someone's house for their kid's first birthday party because the parents would inevitably rope you into watching a 20 minute Super 8 reel of the drooling little crumb crusher crawling around the house?). What amazes me is that in the extended factory video I've seen, which runs about ten minutes, they still don't show the interior in any better detail than the few vague images in the brochure. There's just something strange about their unwillingness to show what it looks like on the inside. That said, I'd be very interested in purchasing the Praetorian Offensive, if for no other reason than that it's name will be a great introduction for it's driver.
