Motorhoming in the North East of England part 2: Council carparks for £12/night

This is part 2 of our mini trip in the NE of England and we have moved further north to explore the beautiful beaches of Bamburgh, Ross Sands and Beadnell, making use of 2 of the 3 Northumberland County Council overnight carparks that allow sleeping stays. We've also stayed at South Meadows campsite in Belford, which has got to be one of the nicest so far...even had badgers who were very playful overnight!

We loved the bookshop in Alnwick, our eldest Granddaughter is the biggest bookworm I know and enjoyed it too and picked up a couple of books. Must have a look at that campsite, looks very nice. Cracking vlog as ever guys

Hiya, just started watching your adventures and find it a refreshing change. I enjoy your down to earth style. Really useful for ideas of where to stay too. We just got our MH at the back end of last year so are new to it but managed to get over to Northumberland twice, the last trip being to the same area as you. Used a Northumbrian water reservoir car park for two nights and then a nice little CL not far from Bamburgh. Was a shame we couldn’t visit Alnwick castle or even the garden with a dog, bypassed Alnwick altogether for that reason. Love the badger footage! Anyhoo, keep up the good work!

Hi just watched your latest video. We were at South Meadows campsite during the storm In fact we are still here now we love it so much 😁 We were in the caravan on the diagonal pitch next to the shower block. I remember seeing your two motorhomes pitched at an angle to avoid the wind 😅 it was a rough day especially when the site lost power! @Eurosully we've been here for a month 😆 having a little break before we start our new life as campsite wardens for the Caravan and Motorhome club 😌 I'm going to head into the wood tomorrow to try spot the badger set I had no idea they were there! I didn't realize it was you, Jane and Buddy inside. I could of got a selfie with you all 😄 you need big KZbin decals on the side of your motorhome 👍😂 hopefully see you on a campsite in the future 🥰

@ lol, we’ll pass on the big decals! 🤣 For badger 🦡 set, go into woods and follow path right to the far end and there’s a little river with red sand, and further up there’s a big mound. Both these areas have big holes which are access for the badgers 🦡 Exciting to be camp site wardens, which area will that be? We may drop in! 🤣

Glad you survived Alnwick. I think you will find the Duke and Dutchess of Northumberland own most of the land around where you have been. Pity the castle and gardens weren’t open. You could have walked in the footsteps of Harry Potter. 🧙 Barter Books Is a great visit. If you visit Lindisfarne you may bump into Vera. She lives in the Snook on the island. See if you can spot her Land Rover. 🤓 Hope you survived the storm. Maybe a drop of the white stuff coming next week. If you’re going inland next I guess you may call in at Cragside there is a park up nearby. Stay safe and look forward to the next one. 👍

I'm with Andrew on car park charging. £12 reasonable for 24 hours: £22 less so. I'm watching this from the historic Spanish city of Leon. The city has thoughtfully provided 3 separate aires with fresh water and drive over grey and black waste. Where we are staying is 15 minutes walk from the historic centre. The cost is zero. How many UK cities provide similar facilities? Motorhomers and campervanners are very poorly served. And last night we stayed in another attractive town. Their aire by the bullring was also free. Motorhomers and campervanners are very poorly served in the UK although you are highlighting where this is improving.

Hi Andrew we are new to your channel...still learning my partner wanting to ask in regards to inverter set up you have. We are looking at getting similar to your through company you used could you advise what total weight of this was we have a 240kg payload and ideally want to be able to use as if on a site without been hooked up Thanks Pauline 😊

@@paulineellerker15 hi Pauline and thanks for taking g the time to watch our vlogs. The inverter itself weighs in at 4.77 kg, but there will also be some sundry cables too, the amount of which would depend on your van layout. However, to use it, we upgraded our battery from a 95ah agm to 230ah LifePo4 which was 1 kg lighter. We added more solar which were around 6-12kg each and updated chargers which I’m not sure on weight difference. If you go to the installers website each item has a specification that you can see and get a specific weight from. It’s been a great upgrade, we love it, but we also have to be careful to manage it, as in manage the power available, especially in winter with no solar. Best thing would be to talk to the installer, Phil, he’s very easygoing and patient 👍 Cheers 🍻 again for watching 👀 Andrew, Jane and Buddy 🐶
