Hiking Scotland's North East Coast - Newburgh to Cruden Bay in a day

The route from Collieston to Whinnyfold is just a narrow track road and undulating farm land. I believe the cliffs between the two locations are just too dangerous for anything other than sheep to be near, hence why there is no clear-cut path. Old Slains Castle was destroyed in 1594 using gunpowder after it's owner was determined to be be part of the failed Catholic Rebellion against King James Vi.

It makes sense, i did see a sign near the coast that said 'sheep grazing on the path', but i didn't see any path!
