I have driven it in highways, rural roads and mainly city. No problem as such anywhere. This satisfies my limited use case of finding a replacement for my dad's 10 year old Nano. Need something compact with a good ground clearance, light steering, air bags and an AMT gearbox with Hill Hold. The Marutis from Alto to Wagon R have a huge problem which I thought Motor Inc would mention. The steerings don't self center whatsoever! And the Tiago AMT doesn't have a hill hold (tata seems to be sleeping). Kwid sits right in between. They should have bought the Dacia Spring based EV to India yesterday.

My father owns Kiger first gen and so far it's been a good to drive as he uses it daily commute to office. One thing I'd like to point out about Renault is they have done a too much of cost cutting. There has been a rattling noise now even in boot door. The service quality, a few days ago there has been a constant noise coming out when ACs are turned on, was not cooling either, sent it to the service centre an they said they couldn't find the cause so the AC system needs to be changed. Then we went to our local mechanic and guess what? It was because there wasn't enough gas, filled it up and everything is normal now.

If they give with 4 cylinder then they have to go with super low build body quality to get better average
@sreesanthsasidharan38418 ай бұрын
Every carmaker now produces their low to mid-budget range cars with three cylinders to keep the weight and engine capacity under 780kg and 1000cc respectively. This strategy helps them keep the road tax and overall price down. If a car weighs over 780kg, it incurs an additional tax of around 3500 rupees, compared to only around 850 rupees for lighter cars. The smallest four-cylinder engines are usually 1.2L, and the extra 200cc of such an engine adds 3% of the price in road tax, compared to 2.5% for engines under 1000cc. While this difference may not be significant for buyers of premium cars, it matters to those looking for budget-friendly options, who want to save as much money as possible. To keep prices competitive, manufacturers have to remove the extra cylinder. Additionally, the lower weight helps in reducing fuel consumption. Maruti offers four-cylinder engines in some of their budget cars, but they achieve this by reducing the weight elsewhere, such as in the body and chassis.

I have been owning a Kwid for around 7 years now. It was the 1st gen, without the face lift. But I still feel that the car has a very plush driving experience. I was trying to upgrade to a higher segment but couldn't find any car that would give me the driving experience my kwid returns, I mean the suspension acts like a catwalk on surprise potholes at moderate speeds. The cabin is airy and more than sufficient for 4 passengers and with only 2 inside, the car has performance as well. With facelift and the safety norms being introduced, this has been a better car. But as Karthik has rightly said, the prices of the cars in this segment have gone up so high that unless it's your first car on tight budget, it won't make sense. I bought my RXT-O in 5 Lacs back then, which now goes around 6 and a half lac rupees. But for your first car, it can still set a benchmark!

The Kwid offers a very good ride. Extreme value for money. Nice little city car. I like the French design and styling cues. They also know exactly how to elevate the visual experience with the quirky use of colour. I really want both Renault and Citroen to succeed in India. They really need to bring some of their good products in. The Reimagined Renault Turbo 5, maybe and updated Fluence, the Alpine etc. And Citroen needs a few more nice products in its portfolio.

As always crisp and clean video. 👍 I also have experienced kwid for sometime.Before my father got a grand i10 nios. He had a Kwid manual Rxt for about 5 months then shifted to Kwid Amt RXL(O) for an year. Suspension was the highlight. Despite being on the Alto territory (now not according to the pricing) it just ride right. I felt Nios suspension was no match for the Kwid, which is incredible. Performance was ok for a 1.0L and it is definitely easier to go around narrow city roads. AMT was fine until you push hard. It will do typical head bob thingy as going up or down the gears. Highways was not that inspiring to go with it but hey atleast it was not a cruiser or such. Also, I hate the exposed bits on the car especially some panel on the boot , side panels and much more. But great car and it just shows how well the French cars are when it comes to suspension. Cheers.

Another way to look at it is - if you are planning to hold onto it for long - then buying new would be better - as it will have warranty and you will know how it’s been cared for right from the start. Also, its resale will be higher than the used cars. Let us know what you are planning. Will be happy to help.

I hate 3 cyl engines unless its turbocharged and the more power makes up for the cluttery nature of the 3 pot. So tiago is out of the question.
