The first model year '06 GM sold over 100 thousand HHR's I highly don't think it was a failure. Headin into a recession & the lack of marketing was what really hurt the brand. It wasn't even mentioned in the sales brochures so nobody even knew let heard of the HHR. When I started looking into one back in '09 this salesman showed me a LT2 4 door with the 2.4 automatic for a test drive. I asked him if there was a sport edition of this & he said yes. So once we returned back to the dealership he gave showed that I can order a SS either in the windowed edition or this other option a panel. That got my interest so I replied great lets do it. Picked out the options I wanted with the SS panel put some money down on it & the order was sent in. 8 wks later they called & said it's here for my inspection. Now 12 yrs later still love it goin to shows & cruiseins.

Yeah 10 years later our hhr is still going strong! Heck I’m actually looking to buy an ss so I can mod it a little... take it out for shows and cruises!!

I'm still the original owner of a 2009 SS Panel HHR for 12 years. My daily driver as well as same vehicle i.take to cruiseins/car shows. One of 216 built 9 o f these in Aqua Blue Mettalic.

No 22mpg is not impressive. I get 27-29 around the city and mid 30s on road trips. You're doing something wrong or your engine is out of tune
