The F16 comes in two varieties, Single seat and Dual Seat, she is climbing into the rear seat of a dual seat configuration (F-16D) which is the weapons Officer, not the Pilot.

This is probably her summer assignment because she has an interest in aviation. I have a child in a service academy too, and they were able to do similar activities. And has had a chance to fly as well but has has no interest in it ... sigh ... too desk like ... whatever ... lol

I worked on Tripple Nickle aircraft while stationed at Udorn RTAFB. They flew the F4D aircraft in those days. While stationed at Ubon and Udorn, they had racked up over 25 mig kills. I left Udorn in October of 1968.

During World War II, a native Pole, Franciszek Gabryszewski, flew, among others, on the p47 thunderborld, he turned out to be the best pilot of the US Air Force in Europe. He defeated / shot down 28 German planes. He reached the rank of colonel. At least that's what the Pentagon said. But that's not the most important thing in this case. Well, his daughter-in-law has reached the rank of general and each of the ladies-pilots can do it.

they are not allowed to fly single seaters as a cadet. They have not been trained on the aircraft. All single seater aircraft have a two seater version. They are not allowed to fly a single seater version until they have been certified by an instructor pilot. This does not happen until they become active duty Air Force. Even the Thunderbirds have a two seater F16 version. The Thunderbirds often take dignitaries on rides in the two seater. When the Thunderbirds travel, their announcer flies the two seater.

@@TheC1kabar Thank you for the clarification. I once worked on a project called Falcon 70. We flew to Cannon AFB, New Mexico to provide support for the Cadet flight program. We took 4 RF4cs to let the cadets who selected this aircraft as the ones they wanted to fly.

It is scientifically proven that females can handle higher G-forces than men. Combine this with the fact that they are typically smaller and lighter than men, it would seem that they make ideal fighter pilots (not to mention F1 drivers and other similar occupations). I applaud all young women who have the balls to sign up for front-line roles that are traditionally dominated by men.

@@ronaldnichols928 Class rank in flight school generally dictates what aircraft one gets. Graduating first in your class will probably result in a fighter or that person's first choice and so on. Last in class generally gets the less desirable aircraft. Not always but as a general rule.
