im a firm believer in mk, i use it in all my vehicles, i use it in my lawn mower and a good thing i did, my boy cut our grass most of the summer,and putting it away at the end of the year i checked the oil and it was empty, i ask him how long has it been empty he said i dont know i never checked it, i pulled start it to see if it would still start,and it did no problem, i had not put anything in it, so it saved my lawnmower motor, and me having to buy another one, i filled it up and next year it ran like new, love this stuff i mixed a little in my 3 in1 oil and use around the house.

Motorkote reacts badly with aluminum parts in a engine. Over time it creates a port blocking black sludge.

@@HappyHands. I think that will happen only if you're foolish enough (like this guy) and put a full gallon in your engine. 1-2 oz can't make that much damage, especially considering maybe 5% of that is the actual "active" ingredient.

Lubricants containing chlorinated esters/hydrocarbons (Prolong, Motorkote, many others) have a sweet spot of maximum lubrication enhancement at around 5-15% of total oil volume. Running more than that can actually reduce the additives lubricating effectiveness. There's the concern about acid formation that others have already mentioned as well; but it tends to be a non-issue with regular oil changes. Concerns aside, I've noticed most engines running these sorts of additive get slightly better fuel mileage, and run smoother.

the only thing i'm confused with is the claim i need to add some every oil change but also claim it soaks into the metal i would think this is an once an done type deal if it soaks into the metal why do i need to add some every oil change

@@punker4Real "Soaks into the metal" is just marketing- metals are crystals, and don't really have anywhere for something as big as oil molecules to soak into. What does happen though, under heat and pressure, tribofilms form (maybe tens to hundreds of atoms thick at most) which act as a sacrificial layer, and over time will act to roll over or "smooth out" rough areas on a microscopic scale. Probably the most obvious example of this; is the timken bearing test oil additive manufacturers love to use. Products like motorkote do have downsides, but in engines with a lot of steel-on steel wear, very heavy loads are present, or older equipment where you want to reduce heat and friction, they can really make a difference. You can try just running it one time and seeing how long the effects last; but for best effect it seems to need each oil change. YMMV!

​@@Arzosoth NO. After first initial treatment is actually extremely hard to get back out of the metal. This is good and bad. Good for long term life but bad when you need to rebuild it'll take forever to seat the rings.. Even after a good ball honing of the cylinders. Supposedly MMO will strip it from the metal but I haven't tried that yet personally. For long term don't waste more then 2-4oz ounces per PM to keep the metal saturated .. Any additional isn't necessary and just wasteful

Should have put the recommended amount in the oil. Not everyone will put a whole gallon in their vehicle. Using the correct amount would give a better reading on if it works.

EXACTLY. One of the reasons why this video got it's first dislike from me. I don't understand how people can be so ignorant on this subject, especially when posting a video about it. It's not like he's suggesting we all ignore the clear directions from Motorkote, like he's doing, but his misuse of terms kind of sets a bad example for people who are watching and just now learning about this stuff.

I haven't tried motorkote yet but I used to be a mobil 1 Fanboy that's all I ran my old worn-out Ranger got 20 miles a gallon for a decade no more no less did oil analysis good oil reports Mobile's a good oil. Then a local shop started carrying Amsoil so I switched after couple days my truck started getting 22 miles a gallon 10% increase in fuel mileage when I switch to Amsoil same weight 5w30 i always used that means it freed up 10% more friction than mobil 1 I was blown away!! I on top of that my oil analysis reports got even better with Amsoil than Mobil 1!! my ppm of wear metels decreased significantly not that they were high before they were normal but now there below average!! definitely believe motorkote can increase fuel mileage by reducing friction same way Amsoil did in my old pickup

You know this is NOT oil! It does NOT replace oil! It is meant to soak into the metal to help with cold starts before the oil is moving.

Running high motorkote content is probably a bad idea. Apparently the stuff this is made off can break down into acidic stuff above 250C or so. This is fine with regular oil content, as it has stabilizers that keep it from becoming acidic, but in large amounts that doesn't mean much and can result in it eating away at your engine. That said, it does what it says, and if you use it how you're supposed to it's pretty much a miracle in a can.

@@andresferrer7628 If you're referring to acidity I tried to check it with litumis paper and the pH meter And neither one of them registered I think it has to be water-based or perhaps I could wash it with water and test water. I've switched to something that seems to be a little bit better than motor coat though

Peyton did not shake the bottle to get the settlement and the active ingredients from the bottom of the bottle so it would pour right into the engine instead of just pouring it straight to the engine that was his first mistake It's common knowledge when you're putting in bottles of oil or any type of additive you have to shake the bottle in order to get the ingredients are active ingredients that are sitting on the bottom of the container Port into the engine instead of emptying a bottle and leaving them in the bottle? Come on guys let's work smart

@@eby6114 same here with 3 kids and their vehicles along with 3 of mine ! Btw u knocked it out the park in your video !! I been buying this stuff for years ! There is another KZbin video with a guy put Motorkote in a lawnmower and ran it for an hour and then drained ALL the oil ....plugged it back up and filled it with WATER to the "Full" mark" and ran it for several more hours with ONLY H2O in the crankcase !!! He was a plain o john Q citizen with a channel testing all kinds of stuff on his own dime like you are doing and I have to tell ya bro ..... I had been researching Motorkote shortly after X1R friction eliminator stopped selling their product that is VERY similar to Motorkote !!! After watching a half dozen reviews and the last one was the lawnmower test I was sold and been using it in EVERYTHING I own ! 3 trucks , 2 of my daughters cars, my lil grocery getter, rear end differentials, transmissions, power steering , and every internal combustion engine I own for the past 6-7 years ! Everywhere but brake fluid ! Its really some good stuff ! Ok so I would love to hear you update your results every 6 months or annually . also would love the same follow up about that Blue Devil stuff ya poured down your crank case to stop engine oil leaks !!! That was another terrific video !!!! Strong regards for doing such a great job with that video !!!

@@eby6114 i dont know wat good would come with putting it in your fuel tank.... its for lubrication not cleaning . i would think since its burning off with your fuel as you drive you would get very little benefit from it . but seriously, I would like to see maybe a 3 or 6 month follow up on both vehicles ... the one with straight Motorkote and the other with blue devil. Curious if the blue devil was a permanent fix or did it start leaking oil again.Thanks for replying back Chief !!

I’ve seen this claim quite a bit, and I’ve seen Amsoil’s alleged test results, but I’ve never actually heard anybody having an issue with motorkote. Over the road truckers by the stuff by the 5 gallon pail. in my experience, it works great and quiet down my transmission, improved my fuel, mileage, and my power steering quieted.
