The APR K04.3 GTS Turbocharger System gives base-model Porsche 911 (991.2) Carrera models plug-and-play horsepower boosts that have seen up to 615 horsepower and 549 ft-lbs of torque on the dyno. That’s gains of up to 263 horsepower and 266 ft-lbs of torque over stock, and there’s more to be had if you choose to upgrade the intercoolers. What is the general consensus on amount of torque the oem clutch can handle? I have an apr stg 1 on my manual 991.2 carrera and I went with the lower peak torque file to promote clutch life longevity, surely this upgrade would be pushing the limits and unfortunately the aftermarket has been very slow to offer an upgraded clutch assembly or LSD for these cars

The Sport Classic is torque limited to just 442 lb/ft (600Nm) and uses the same clutch (9P1-141-117) as all the other 991.2 and 992 Carreras. I'd bet that's the clutch's capacity.

@@Specialbrown99 ​​⁠​⁠ get the clutch plate relined with a stickier friction material. But the transmission may not be rated for much more than 600Nm.

@@kalebkloppe6193 The 991.2 MT gear set is same gears as 991 Turbo PDK box. Should be quite strong.

@@adamsantamaria5631 not all shared. For example, 3rd may have the same ratio but the parts are different. As is the differential. And the PDK weighs 70lbs more, that’s not all from an extra clutch, it has better cooling.

What if you have the GTS already ? It is just a tune as the turbo;s are same size as the aftermarket Borg Warners ? How much would this cost for 992.2

If you trash the engine, then Porsche may claim that the tune was at fault, if your waterpump goes out, then no.

@@vomitus007 APR is nice for sure. You also have M tune, Cobb, soul has one as well, sharkwerks. They’re all basically OTS tuned and are going to be relatively conservative. Custom tune is the only way to get the most out of it.

It won’t the oem dct clutches are capable of 650 rwtq and torque is managed through the tune. The manual however the clutch will hold up plenty of cars running this setup on base Carreras but I’d consider upgrading the clutch in the manual cars.
