I'm just about to update my 2019 petrol SQ5. I've looked at Jaguar's F-Pace, BMW X3 M40i and others. I just keep coming back to my favourite car that I still love to get in and drive. The build quality is amazing, the sound system, everything. I took the new diesel for a spin the other day and it flew off the mark with no lag, a bit like in this video. Sadly it could take up to a year to reach me here in Perth. Thanks for the very entertaining video.

One of the main reasons I bought an SQ5 was practicality - with some fun thrown in.....sure - in a world where fuel consumption is no issue - the conversation might be different. For my money - being able to press myself deep into my seat and NOT watch the fuel gauge move has been a joy, and affordable - not to mention being able to drive from Sydney to Brisbane on a tank with 5 people, a roof pod and surfboards. The reliability of the SQ5 has been superb - I have owned mine for 6 years now - without any issues - as it is built like a tank - the engine in particular. Until I go electric - this works for me!!

I have an SQ5, best car I have ever had, sounds great & goes like a cut snake (Quick) & on a road trip I can get down "under" 6L P/100km fuel economy

I'm actually partial to the diesel exhaust noise. The old man has a 2014 A7 bi-turbo and it sounds significantly better than the petrol V6 variant.

We have both Jaguar F Pace 3.0 D R, and Q7 200KW TDI. Great cars. Torque means petrol generally won't see which way they went.

Actually a diesel sounds pretty neat once you take DPF and cat off.

VAG six cylinder diesel very refined and mountain of torque so relaxing to drive so my choice just 👍

Both cars sound great but I think the diesel suits a car off this type… running costs would be night and day also. Diesel far cheaper to buy per L over 98 and then economy also stronger. Jag is a pretty car though

Why not do this again with an F Pace fitted with the D300 Ingenium Diesel Motor 3 litre straight six cylinder 220 kw / 650 nm I’d buy the F Pace with this motor Great performance with excellent economy... SQ5 is great, and it’s probably a bit faster then the F Pace with the D300 motor, but, not a lot, and I prefer the F Pace for various reasons. The SQ5 is a specific performance model of the Q5. Performance version of the F Pace is the SVR 5.0 litre Supercharged V8. An F Pace SVR would be quicker then SQ5, and the V8 SVR sounds awesome. However, SVR costs more then an SQ5. Anyway Each to their own..

Do you get the F Pace 400 R-Dynamic in your country? That’s got 400HP and is the direct competition to a SQ5, both being gas/petrol engines. With this same engine here just tuned to 400HP.

Nice video guys! It would have been interesting to do a rolling race not in auto, but in manual mode, with the same gear, to figure out what the in-gear acceleration would be. I think in that case Audi would win again, thanks to its massive torque.

If you have a P300 in the U.K. it’s normally a 4 cylinder. The 6 cylinder is the P400. 400 bhp and it’s much quicker than that Audi. And I think built better. The Audi is very plastic inside
