amazing how they make things way more difficult than it has to be. it used to be easy to remove the backplate, and then they upgrade the phones to something "better" and now you need special tools to get into it.

Two things wrong with this video: (1) DO NOT use "metal" blades to separate the PLASTIC case. (2) There is absolutely NO NEED to disconnect the "finger print" sensor cable. Otherwise, good video! Thanks.

Sorry to be critical, but I believe that using the single-edge razor blade is extremely dangerous and risks a major cut when it slips out of control. There must be a better, safer, and more effective tool to use to open the back. I am watching this video to assure that I can replace my battery with a minimum of damage and of frustration. Thank you for making this process seem simple enough that even I might attempt it without ruining my phone. I am trusting that all of the video was recorded in real time, without any time lapse.

Amazon and ebay! They are $18 on Amazon. On ebay goes from $28 to $240! The $240 battery HAS to be MUCH better than the $28 battery. LOL

Shouldn't be this difficult. Kinda like some car companies where you need to remove the engine to change the oil...

Adding to what @TheOzthewiz said below, DO NOT USE ANYTHING METAL to try and pry out the battery. The battery casing is thin metal (think disposable aluminum pan) and if you puncture it with it anything metal, your battery will burst into flames, and because it's a Lithium battery, it will burn until there's nothing left to burn. Yes, I have burned a phone to ashes. You're not saving that much money by replacing the battery yourself - just go buy another phone.

There is always a risk when you handling batteries no matter the kind of battery, I had incident with iPhones and others high-end Samsung never before an LG or Motorola anyways most of the people that will attempt to fix this phone don’t have or want to save all the money that a new phone cost that money could go to pay water bill or something else
