That's a fabulous looking machine, well done Mutt. Having said that, I have a couple of suggestions for Mutt that would make this bike nigh on perfect. Sweet talk CFMoto into supplying you with the 300cc single from their 300nk, that should liven things up a bit. Finally... Please replace those horrible, lanky mirrors with a decent set of bar ends. My work here is done. Ciao!

Handsome indeed, Mutt are getting better all the time. But it costs only a couple of hundred less than a Triumph Speed 400 and so will be a sales disappointment.

Prices will fall as they sit on the floor for a year, not to mention, a good used buy. Chinese bikes don't hold their value.
@SS-ck3ew2 ай бұрын
@@CrapKerouac Nothing "holds their value". Nothing. A bike is not a part of an investment portfolio. If you buy it for any other reason than riding it yourself then you are a foolish fool. If you buy any new motorbike thinking you can sell it at anything above a loss, especially within a year or two, you are a fool. Again: NOTHING "holds their value". 🙂If you value your purchase so little as to sell it after a year or two of ownership, do yourself a favor and buy a bus pass. SS in commiefornia, USA.

@@SS-ck3ewI think you’re missing the point, no one is talking about bikes not loosing value. It’s about how much value they lose and like it or not Chinese bikes lose more in depreciation, this isn’t so much a problem if they are far cheaper new but if they are almost the price of the Triumph (which will be worth a lot more when you come to trade it in) then it does matter. The price they are asking for this means it will be up against things like RE’s 350 range or even the new Guerrilla model as well as the Speed 400. It needs to be about £1k lower in price imo if they want to sell more than a few.
@SS-ck3ew2 ай бұрын
@@sergentcolon1 I have thought about it. I do not trade in every couple of years. I tend to keep my bikes for 10 years or more. I also maintain them as best I can so that they last. Everything depreciates. Expensive new bikes tend to lose more because they cost more to begin with. If other folk want to trade in for a newer model every 2 or 3 years good for them but they're going to take a bigger hit on depreciation because all vehicles tend to drop like boat anchors as soon as you take 'em off the lot and down the road. Thanks! SS in commiefornia, USA.

Tubeless Weeeeeeeeeee(ls)! So many manufacturers cheap out and run cheapass bicycle wheels. Tubes SUCK. Harley still does it (and charges more for this crap, calling it "laced wheels) and it pisses me off no end! The Yamaha TW200 still has bicycle wheels! FTN. BMW did it on their FUGLY R18 when it first came out (maybe they still do?) and people that didn't realize it got real upset when they found out after buying one (I read the R18 forums)! Well done MUTT! The bike does look gear! Sweeeeeeet! Sounds good at idle and when revved, not too loud as I don't much care for LOUD. I can honestly say that if we had this motorbike here I would buy one. It checks all the FUN boxes including (I checked) a 4.2 gallon (US) fuel capacity. HUZZAH! Thanks for a nice review of a bike I could really use over here in the USA! I am glad England has it! Keep putting the great back in Great Britain! SS in commiefornia, USA.

Meanwhile I absolutely despise all wheels except wire spoke wheels. I will actively discard a motorcycle if it doesn't have wite spoke wheels. They just look better , look like a proper fuckin motorcycle with em.
@SS-ck3ew2 ай бұрын
@@leepalmer1210 I never said the spoke wheels weren't loverly. I said tube type wheels suck. Don't think so? Put tube type wheels on your car and flat two of them in the middle of Death Valley with no cell service and get back to us. Tubes suck. Spoke wheels look cool but if they use tubes they can take an airborne intercourse 'cuz I ain't putting bicycle wheels on anything capable of highway speeds. A blowout at speed will put you through puberty before it turns you into grated cheese spread. There's a reason that when tubeless wheels became available they were called "safety wheels" and that reason is they are safer than bicycle wheels. Get spoke wheels that run tubeless. Or not. I won't buy 'em unless they run without a cheapass tube. All the best! SS in commiefornia, USA.

Hi I’m 60. Looking for a 250 to use every day to get to work, trip around the Devon lanes and generally enjoy. I like what Mutt are doing but what puts me right off are the front mudguards - do they do longer ones (say TU250 ish) to keep the engine free of mud and salt? I like riding a lot but don’t enjoy a filthy crusty bike. How about pannier frames and a rack too? I know the world appears to be all style over substance but how many older riders are just walking on by because of lack of practicality? Thanks
@motorsforthemasses7 күн бұрын
@GrahamA63 Hi, give Mutt a call, they may do a mudguard extention that can be fitted. You can ask about the racks too. Please mention you watched it here. (Oh, BTW, I don't get anything from it other than recognition).

Mark could you convince mutt to make an optional full front mudguard and this would turn this good looking bike into a great winter commuter. One question this or royal enfield hunter?
@motorsforthemasses2 ай бұрын
I have emailed them about the mudguard. RE is a great bike. I like the looks of this MUTT better; and it sounds better, and is quicker. Rideability would go to the RE but that is 100cc more and had road tyres so felt a bit better on the road. However the RE was slower. I think the build is better on the MUTT also.

That "mudguard" isn't going to prevent much mud from ending up on the bike/rider.

That 65mph shimmy isnt really really acceptable, possibly down to thise god awful Timsun tyres. Thought Mutt were junkiing the Chinese tyres on earlier stuff. Makes the CF Moto 300nk an absolute steal at £2995 otr !!
@motorsforthemasses2 ай бұрын
I think its unfair to compare it to the 300NK. Yes a great bike but completely different type of bike. I don't think the Timsun tyre is the issue. I have ridden a lot of bikes with those and had no issues. I just think because it is a nobbly tyre. My NTV 650 with nobbly tyres is simply hilariously awful, but that is the choice I make because it is a scrambler style bike. People LOVE the Bullit Hero 125 but it rides terribly on nobbly tyres, especially on roundabouts in the wet, but you just change your riding style to accommodate.

I had a good look at the 125 version of this in Calne a few weeks ago and i did not like what i saw, it seems Mutt have given up on style which was what their brand was built on. If this is their future i expect them to go out of business shortly.

I did not like the look of the engine and the somewhat angular styling, they are missing the classical/custom look they previously employed. Hopefully they will bring out different models on the same platform.

Had my DRK 125 for about 6 months now and can attest that 50mph is about what you can expect on the flat without ringing it's neck, maybe 60 mph downhill with a tail wind.
