Hi there. Will there acually ever be a video about the new exhaust and maybe how exactly you've disconnected the tank? I need to replace my battery on my HPS125 but have no cloue of how to do that :(

Hey guys! I really like what you're doing during your videos and how you're presenting the bike and it's issues. I just bought a bike just like this in March, I really love everything about it, except the exhaust. I found it hard to push the rear brake down properly because of the position of the exhaust pipes and I also disliked very much the heat they generated on a longer journey. So I decided to do something about it. I got rid of the upper part completely and i changed the lower one with an aftermarket chinese exhaust pipe(an Akrapovic imitation), what fitted perfectly under the belly pan(of course i had to cut down the big lower silencer of the exhaust system just when it curved down under the bike). So there was no upper part at all and the the bigger one was also missing. The sound i got was absolutely awesome, just like a 400 supermoto, and i mean it, people just couldn't believe it being a 125. Unfortunately i've done more bad than good. Since I got rid of the big lower part(which contains the cat converter), the engine wasn't restrained in the proper way. I achieved bigger top speed, but on lower revs it didn't got that torque, it wasn't that punchy, in my eyes this was a drawback already. The same reason considered, the bigger problem was that the engine didn't worked properly, I felt somehow that it wasn't running that smooth.Around 3-4000 rpm, in first, second and third gear, it kept interrupting really badly. there were cases when i couldn't start uphill because of this(1 had to rev it up first..). So i decided to mount back the original system, but I left out the upper part. Now the pipe is ending right after the lower big silencer, facing the ground, producing quite a similar noise, just a bit louder. The moment i remounted it, all the issues were gone. I hope I helped you guys and the others reading this experiment. The conclusion is that you can play with the system as you please, only somehow calculate and mount the cat converter in it. Keep up the good work!

If you are in UK, remember you can't just remove your cat like that. You likely won't pass your MOT, and noncompliance with the EU emissions legislation can land you a £1000 fine. You will void your insurance cover with an undeclared cat removal, so need to declare that mod. And by doing so, you put in writing the fact you aren't complying with the emissions. A slippery slope indeed...

Hi, quick question if anyone can help The two rubber hose's one on each side at 23:52 when you are taking the tank off should those be connected to anything else (apart from the tank) or just hang towards the bottom? I have just bought one of these for my first bike and have been checking the battery level managed to get to it and find it thanks to this video. I bought an oxford charger - which I just noticed - can be permanently hooked up to maintain the battery so would save having to do this in the future hopefully I can find somewhere to stick the little box. Thanks!

Can you please make a video about how to connect external power cables to the battary of Mondial HPS 125 when it is empty. It is difficult to access the battery, should I completely take it outside. Is there an easy way to access it with cables ?

Great video, not much information arround about mechanics in the Hps, Thanks. It was a pity you didn´t show more in detail how to dissasable parts like the deposit (can´t you just take the plastic and leave the tank on with the refilling screws?) and specially how to unplugg the indicator lights and so in the front light. Nice job anyway, hope to see more videos on the Fb Mondial, repairs, fix, spears...

It is certainly similar and I believe uses the same engine, but although the shape is similar, the exhaust is more earlier 2000's Kawazaki Z1000, the seat, side panels, rear number plate holder, front mudguard and tank are a slightly different shape, and constructed differently. Oh, and the belly pan. Same chassis though I believe so that is why the overall layout shape is the same.

I have huge admiration for your honesty in reporting the various problems, it is a great help to would be purchasers. I dont have a fraction of your technical and repairing knowledge and experience with bikes, and to me this just looks like way too much hassle to get involved. What a shame, the only 125cc with decent power and retro looks, and it's just badly built. I dont need that is of hassle with a brand new bike that costs as much as a superbly reliable and well built machine- like a Honda. At this price it should be designed and built really well, and it just isn't. In fact, it's built worse and is less reliable than low powered clones that cost half the price. What a lovely looking piece of crap.

I think you are perhaps a bit too gentle towards the dealer in regards to the warranty. Given that repairs after an incident are carried out by an authorised dealer, incidents/accidents should not in general affect the warranty.

Install an Oxford or Optimate optimiser charger lead. If you lift the seat edge of the tank you can reach the battery terminals (careful not to pull the fuel pipe out). Then you can run the lead to come out of the side panel.

Went to take it out this morning and won't start at all. Just figured out how to get to the battery, so will go ahead and order what I need. Thanks again.

Despite the issues....yes I would. The problems are minor really. Just get it regularly serviced and you should be ok. Be sure the combined brakes are bled properly. 14 bhp liquid cooled, 80mph bike
