You can see why we love SVG so much in NZ. Lots of talent, pushes hard and clean. An excitement machine. Not sure why there are snipers in the comments. You NASCAR fans should appreciate the fact that he has expanded the fan base of your sport all the way to the other side of the world, and breathed some fresh air into it.

Someone above mentioned no one in NASCAR was is his league when it comes to road courses...why did he finish second yresterday? Another mentioned him showing of his skills on the last laps...by bumping the leader out of the way, overdriving the chicane and losing the lead, overdriving the final corner and almost wrecking?? @@codymoe4986 You seem salty as to be fair. He is clearly a skillful driver and acknowledging that doesn't make someone ridiculous or a fanboy. Why can't you just admire a skillful newcomer and admit he has massive potential? Also, the whole bump and run style is heavily penalised in the V8 Supercar series he raced in, so it's counter intuitive to suddenly be allowed to do that. I think that kind of racing is very cool and suits his style, so he will adapt very quickly. It's only cool when it's done without trying to wreck the other guy though, and respect to the guy that beat him today, he did it legit. It's OK for people to like SVG. Not sure why it triggers you 🤔

@@jabber1990 I like road courses over ovals, what can I say. I'm old enough to remember the race at Riverside, California, when it was the season opener. I find the Roval at Charlotte really fun to watch because the brakes on these hunk of junks aren't made to stop these cars at all after 50 laps.

Between both Atlanta races, Bristol, Kansas, both Darlington races, Iowa, New Hampshire, Nashville, Chicago, Indy (for me personally), Michigan, Daytona and now the Glen, this has been by far the best season of NASCAR I’ve watched since I started in 2016.

@@TheSaturnV They always do. They seem to learn and improve when “road course ringers” come in. I don’t understand why those same ringers can’t adapt to ovals when that’s what they mainly run when coming to NASCAR. They do get better, but rarely do they improve as much as the NASCAR drivers do on road courses when a bar is set.

@@jonaultman It's Chris Buescher, and all he did was get knocked out of the way by SVG, regain composure, proceed to stay on SVG's 6 as tight as possible and made a clutch pass in the last few turns for the win over one of the best road course drivers in any series......so yeah, nothing special. 🙄🙄

I dont get why NASCAR calls cautions so stricly even at road courses. Like half the time nobody even gets stopped on the racetrack so why call a caution, caution should only be warrented if a car is stopped on the track for more than 25 seconds in my opinion, that or there is really bad debree or oil on the track or some damage to a barrier or smth.

I watch NASCAR because my son is into it. I have now been to about a half dozen tracks to watch the races live including twice to the Daytona 500. For the life of me, I don't understand the playoff points system. It makes absolutely no sense. Someone please explain this to me

You get playoff points for stage wins and stage top 10 finishes And if you win you automatically into the next round

16 drivers get into the playoffs. 4 are eliminated every round, which is three races, until the final race where the final four battle it out. You get points based on finishing position as well as stage finishing position. You are also locked into advancing to the next round no matter how many points you get if you win a race in that round. The most confusing part is that the points reset after each round, but you get bonus points to start each round based on how well you did during the regular season with wins and stage wins.

He got scuffed out of the playoffs by either Harrison Burton or Chase Briscoe lucking into their wins. Likely Harrison Burton. Buescher should not only be in the playoffs, but this should be his advancement into the round of 12. He could've and should've pointsed his way in. Alas. This dumb format.

Format is idiotic, and Burton is a throwaway entry. Briscoe did take care of business today better than any other playoff contender.

Don't ever underestimate Buescher..He is the most talented driver in the cup series..I'd take him over Larson any day...
