If Monument Valley had more tracks and vehicle physics less "floaty" I'd be playing that instead of Apocalypse. I prefer the desert and mud over what seems to be California being destroyed by catastrophic events. Pacific Rift also seems to be the best looking of the three on PS3. They gave too much attention to the background and real-time events they left out details to the races themselves. Mototstorm needs to go back to it's roots. Wonder if people play Pacific Rift online.

While MSA is great...they had to change some things that I loved in MSPR. Explosions on cars look worse,crashes just arent as cool, you can't choose what the bots are anymore, and your car doesnt do some of the cool stuff it did like when you boost to long fire blows out of the bottom of your car in MSPR. But the maps in apocalypse are pretty cool to with car custimization

I'd argue MSPR is a VERY close second, especially in terms of presentation of said graphics. The game itself is clearly not solely meant to be a graphical wankfest, hence the closer camera and new physics. MSMV and PR even seem to have similar graphical flaws; taking a closer look at the sharp rocks in the track shown in this video, I can easily see individual polys from a cursory glance.. and once he flies off the track, texture resolution hits the shitter, just like in PR (Badlands being a particularly.. BAD example)

Motorstorm 1 (Monument Valley) had the best graphics, although there was too much mud across all the maps. Motorstorm 2 (Pacific Rift) was my favourite of all of them. The graphics were good, the maps were beautiful and I still play the game today. I can’t actually comment about Apocalypse because I’ve never played it but based on what I saw from this video, it’s OK, I guess.

Apocalypse is great. The art direction change from natural environments to man made ones makes it look far different and less pretty, but it is technically impressive and fun to play. It is also the fastest Motorstorm and the most chaotic (in a good way) since you are driving in tighter spaces instead of the wide areas of the past games. And even more impressive is that you start seeing the roots of Driveclub in this game with many effects and rendering techniques that would be deployed in large scale in the latter.

***** ..the first has closer to realistic feel,you dont sacrifice speed ..like gran turismo , cars are slypery..especially bikes..but the hand brake and nitro together in a turn can easily save you..close turns with obstacles is your enemy ..the nice and unique in this game is every track ..has many terains..the shorter is the mud..but only hevy cars can get desent speed ,the full with turns and jumps for bikes..and clean road but the longest for spedy rally cars..but dont be tricked ..usually you choose the right terain..but somtimes to win you must combine terains,plus ther is not allways clear what is the right terain for you.

Pacific Rift is the Best Motorstorm IMO, Apocalypse is great, but it doesn't feel like the other Motorstorm games (for me).. maybe it's the weaker soundtrack, the 'too different UI' or such.. I do like the extra 'track changing conditions' in Apocalypse, but Pacific Rift is still my fav Motorstorm..

Pacific Rift is the best in my opinion. I haven't played the original, but DAMN! How ugly the graphics are in Apocalypse! And an overall lacklustre feeling towards it, seems unfinished at times. I'm sorry but I also enjoyed PR much more than the last one not only for the graphics (which blew my mind as it was the first game I popped into my PS3) and I regret selling my PR, I want it back!

I like all of them, apocalypse tried something different and split opinions but is still a very good game. I even got arctic edge which I really enjoyed, now just Motorstorm RC and I'm done. I they decide to do a sequel, I think they should do back-to-basics: maybe a new location (places around africa), in car views and, without all the destruction they could put MUCH better graphics.
