Many shots are cgi enhanced and some of the scenes that show certain cars being wrecked are full cgi as opposed to fury road where they genuinely wrecked multiples of the vehicles.

@@sunsetgarage755 and I have no doubt there will be genuine wrecked vehicles in Furiosa too, and even Fury Road had big cgi destruction pieces like the sandstorm swallowing up cars and the final crash with the Doof Warrior's musical truck smashing into the War Rig plus another 2,500 vfx to boot. to be fair, it makes sense why Furiosa has more cgi, they're not filming in Namibia like Fury Road but back home in Australia again, Oz doesn't have sand dune deserts like Africa does, so the wasteland would have to be edited. plus the majority of Fury Road was a chase/race where all the characters were surviving on one Vehicle, while Furiosa takes place in several 'big set' locations like Bullet Farm and Gas Town. but thats just my opinion.

@@sunsetgarage755 I think almost every car relatet stunt was done for real in Furiosa. For example the crash of the War Rig through this chimney building. This scene from the second trailer looked 100% cgi but in fact it was a real vehicle crashing through a real building 🤯

@@joergzabbee3921 I have inside knowledge, I should probably mention I worked on Fury Road in the Art Dept as a vehicle buyer for the first few months (so I’m aware of all the double & triples we had to buy) & then out in the workshop building vehicles & weapons. I didn’t work on Furiosa (out of the industry now)but am in touch with a few of the guys that did work on it. Both movies have mostly practical effects, but due to the scarcity of a few of the star cars (known as “hero” vehicles) they added some digital effects to save them from total destruction in Furiosa, no doubt learning from their mistakes from destroying almost everything making Fury Road & then choosing to crush 90% of the remaining cars in Namibia as they didn’t have the funds to bring them back. Don’t get me wrong, many cars were still destroyed in Furiosa & you’d be hard pressed to spot the CGI as its advanced a lot since filming Fury Road in 2011.

The cars are actually the main characters in this film and so as Fury Road meanwhile in the Gibson trilogy is all Gibson, the Interceptor and the Tanker in the Road Warrior until Thunderdome which is just Gibson and Tina.

No, they’re an extension of the characters, just like their wardrobe. Bartertown’s skeletonized and salvaged vehicles convey the ragtag nature of their civilization, Max’s battered V8 at the start of Fury Road signifies his broken and feral mental state, etc.

I never understood why Hot Wheels didn't jump on Mad Max (seems perfect for "playsets"). Also, why no scale model company didn't release models of the Interceptor and several other vehicles from Fury Road. There was a model kit of The Interceptor years ago, long before I took up building models, and it's long out of production and pricey on the aftermarket now.

Mad Max vehicles are supposed to be symbols of power and an extension of the characters that drive them. Immortan Joe's army are the ones who have the 'scavanged together' vehicles because its a demonstration of wealth and abundance, like his Giga-horse being 'two of everything', but most vehicles have always been old cars with mods and armour, some are just dirtier then others, Furiosa isn't any different in that aspect. the War Rig being shiny in Furiosa is probably a display of youth, like the character herself being younger, its metaphorical stuff, but thats my take

The cars are great but they are to well done not in keeping with Mad Max. Example multi level cars, surplus grills. They are crazy but by concept not requirement. It just removes the realism and as a Fantasy style movie it is realism that makes a great Mad Max film.

It is realistic, the monument of grills and vehicles that are over the top, are built for the harsh environment, but also a “statement piece” of sorts to show other people that you’re not to be messed with
