This is awesome!!!!! best idea. If you're gonna feature Retro Aussie muscle, I'd be happy to have my beautiful example of a '99 Holden HSV Clubsport 195i featured! It's one of the last Aussie V8s ever made before LS motors took over the HSV range! number 1620 of ~2000 examples. 304ci (5Ltr) V8, 195kw (261hp), 430nm of torque (though, mine has an exhaust system with a custom cold air intake, MSD ignition leads, etc. so I'm estimating around 280/290 ish HP). One day it'll be stroked to 355ci with a twin throttle body custom intake manifold, ported heads etc etc. Aiming for about 400whp :) Its my baby, I love it to death. To me, its a perfect combination of practicality, muscle and sportiness. I must say, I'm quite the import fan, and originally I wanted a Nissan 180SX Type X. I ended up with the complete opposite, and I regret nothing haha.

Agreed. "too powerful, too fast" i mean not really. I love muscle cars for the styling and the sound, but you put £50k into an old muscle car and you'll be lucky if you go as fast as a £10k 1998 supra. I get it, you CAN make a muscle car fast, but not really any faster than any other car. When you get into high level modifications, it's PURELY about style, when it comes to choosing your platform, especially if you're not replacing the original panels, those big steel quarters are heavy.

you can pickup 800hp supras for under £10k over here. How many miles you'll get before the heads crack is another story completely, but the point stands. You can make plenty of power in any vehicle if you're willing to spend the money on it.

I found that same feeling in my car, my wife before she past away wanted to get a loud street cruiser, I wanted a car that could be that but also look like a sleeper. It took a while to get here. When Lisa past away I lost everything, my apartment, slept in my car for three months but I found that the Veterans administration was able to help in many ways. I found a 2005 Chrysler 300c rwd hemi. 99,987 on miles. After 14 months 109,803 in miles I did 20" wheels, tint and a good sounding exhaust. Now I am stuck, saving to do coilovers from Streetedge. have a great day. Thanks for letting me share.

There are enough shows that don't publish nearly enough. Dirt every day is like dirt every 4 months. Hot rod garage is pretty non existent and the best seller road kill barely produces. Add in 10 minutes of commercials for motor trend on demand each episode and there is almost no content from a channel that has almost 5 million subs.
@henrykincaid68218 жыл бұрын
adam courtney they all have a new episode each month. It's every four weeks. Just look at the MotorTrend channel's feed.
@zososldier8 жыл бұрын
The 4 months thing was an over exaggeration. With the 4 or 5 shows they have there is really no reason that they couldn't have more content. This doesn't even take into account the shows they lock behind a pay wall in motor trend on demand which bleeds over into non MToD shows further cutting into time. Regardless of the host stating they don't have funding, they do. They have the parent company MT + Dodge + youtube + MToD + Netflix + all the other sponsors like cummins, continental, etc. In short, content is lacking.
@Aeroworks5408 жыл бұрын
thats why its not a tv show. If you want daily content they have motortrend on demand which is where most shows do post almost daily.
@KSKaleido8 жыл бұрын
You obviously don't understand how expensive and time-consuming it is to produce quality car content. If you want daily videos go watch some garbage vlog channel. I'll happily wait a month for quality episodes from all the shows on this channel.

Dude... they gave you free content for years... and are still giving you free content... and it's $5 a month for a subscription...
@jeepcollector918 жыл бұрын
+Anukloses I'm fine with shows coming out on MTOD first. I keep hoping once the older shows become stale content on MTOD (maybe 6 months to a year old) that they will then air on KZbin. That way they can make some money off us non-MTOD people. The main show I'm missing out on is Roadkill Garage as it has some of the Roadkill fleet on the show. Being on a really tight budget the only shows I see are right here on KZbin. It may be only $5 a month, but that $60 a year could be a tank of fuel or another part to finish a project. It adds up when living cheap.
@Anukloses8 жыл бұрын
JeepCollector91 Dude im sorry but compared to every other subscription on the internet MTOD is cheaper. They are doing their best as a business they need to survive. Netflix starts at $8 a month MTOD is the best show for carheads that doesnt have that cringy drama that every other car show has.
@jeepcollector918 жыл бұрын
+Anukloses I agree that it is cheaper than other subscription based services on the internet and I think it is a great deal. Just beyond my current budget. No Netflix for me either. I would rather pay for MTOD than Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime any day. Just can't afford any of them. So unless older episodes of Roadkill Garage eventually find their way to KZbin, I'll just have to miss out.
@theoriginaljoke3.1488 жыл бұрын
also there are many shows that are very easy to find online for free, I have yet to find a good source for MTOD stuff, so that should be reason enough alone.

You've got some seriously badass cars there, but about that Trans Am; instead of doing yet another LS swap like everyone else does, why not keep it all Pontiac? A Holley-injected 400 or 455 would be a hell of a lot of fun.
@this_guy69658 жыл бұрын
Totally agreed. I'm sick of LS swaps. Like c'mon people, be a little more original. I think though that a blown 403 would be badass

The 403 Olds? I agree it would be cool, but are there enough aftermarket parts available to build one?
@this_guy69658 жыл бұрын
justsomeguytoyou certainly would be since the second gens came with the option of a 403 from the factory
@justsumguy2u8 жыл бұрын
I know, I had one (a '79). I was just wondering if there were Oldsmobile high performance parts still being made, stuff like forged pistons, cams, etc---I would think that stuff would be hard to find since there isn't much interest in anything Oldsmobile nowadays. But even an Olds 350 would be better than that pukey 301 lol
@this_guy69658 жыл бұрын
justsomeguytoyou I gotcha. I thought you meant parts to jyst make it fit. I think there parts available though. I used to work with a guy who bought a brand new, complete 403 putting out around 560hp (I think. I can't remember for sure) that he then stuck a 6-71 blower on and then was in the process of modifying an old Model T to put it in

Your Monte has a 2:56 rear not a 2:53, your grandfather's car was a 402 big block not a 401, the clone Daytona is kool as hell, but I'd like to see the build, to know where you got the (reproduction?) parts, and to let the viewer know what worked, and what didn't. Leave the (new) Mustang for Motortrend Magazine. Best,
@Serps-ii9zc8 жыл бұрын
I doubt there's much info on the build of the Daytona, he's had it together for quite a while but I do know it was in Mopar Muscle Mag (I believe) a while back. As for parts, I don't know if it's what he used but AAR Quality Fiberglass makes a Daytona kit that's a fiberglass reproduction of the nose cone, the wing and the scoops, and I know the back widow parts are available, don't remember who makes them but I've definitely seen it before.

Sure they are there's a ton or 2 of steel in them not alum. & plastic . Besides who drives to be safe. if that's your primary concern :your in the WRONG place.

roger depew your license should be revoked if driving safely isnt a priority of yours, you're not only risking yourself,. but everyone else when you drive. Older vehicles didn't have the same safety standards and tests that we have today, and weren't really made to survive an accident. No airbags alone is enough to kill you, let alone whatever happens to the chassis as well.

anthony lach Carbs are worse than EFI in every way, the car industry migrated to EFI because you get more power, smoother throttle, lower operating temps, better mileage, less carbon buildup, etc. There really is no reason to use a carb other than you are scared of wiring.

mrsuperbuckets Im not talking about power related. Im talking about how everything is moving towards hybrid, electric, self driving garbage. "Keep your cars carbed" is another way to say "Drive older vehicles"

anthony lach Old cars are fine from a nostalgia viewpoint, but in reality they are garbage when compared to modern vehicles.
