The latest LR4s have no reliability problems. We have an HSE 3 litre twin turbo diesel. Gets a real workout living in Australia and it has been totally reliable, not so much as a squeak in 2 years. Great comfort, 28+mpg, marvellous off-road or on. If you can afford it don't know why you'd buy anything else.

My goodness, that LR3 in the beginning is so good looking. I think Disco 3 still looks better than LR4

@RaguelAngelofBalance Only in counties where they don't sell it with the Turbo Diesel V6, it can get close to 30mpg

Bad expierence then, we've had a fleet for the last 3 years and they've done awesomely, no issues.

@pjtart not always a big engine has to strain less to haul around the vehicle like if you got a 4-cyl in this the engine thats in it would be more fuel efficient that the 4-cyl

The 3rd row is fine for adults. My 6ft+ son finds it comfortable.

Oh no, Motorweek! Who did the research on the valvetrain? It's only a 32 valve V8. Just sayin'.

@Neral10 1 of the 1st cars i owned was a used 69 Bug back in the 70's. VW's of today aren't nearly as reliable as they once were. Japanese cars are pretty overrated in terms of reliability (especially Toyota) and cost much more to repair.

I don't understand Davis' beef with the interior. After he says the dash "left quite a bit to be desired," he goes on to praise it profusely. What gives?! Or maybe I just don't understand the meaning of that phrase...

radudeATL he's just a little confused. That's all.

I just wish Land Rovers are as reliable as Toyotas.
