I can’t believe that Christian fixed the worst of the LR4 faults on the way home after collecting the car with the iiD tool. i have a 2010 disco 4, 3.0 TDV6 HSE, i bought it in the Uk i;m British. i've never had a problem with it despite all the holidays in Ukraine on the appalling roads here. I took it to Ukraine on the 26th Feb and started evacuating families over the border at Uzerhorod. Driving thru the Carpathians every day fetching and carrying about 300 people thru ice & snow, minus 25c. Then i went to Odesa and drove from there to Constanta taking more families out and bringing in supplies of food, military kit & meds. Day in day out the vehicle was beautiful, handling superb, fuel economy not bad averaging about 8 litres per 100 kms. about month 4 of the year i was ferrying soldiers out to training camps where we instructed them in NATO methods across severe terrain for 5 weeks. Had to change the suspension bushes and some sort of arms and the suspension was like new. The Prop Shaft rattles a little and needs changing. Only broken item is the rear washer has stopped. Thing with these amazing vehicles it to service them regularly, Taken on board your advice vis a vis Oil! Still here and hauling people and stuff around in Nikolaiv. Our work has changed, the chaos, panic & fear is no longer and the vehcile keeps going. Winter is coming but a Disco 4 can handle that...

Late to the party, but I just bought a 2016 LR4 Landmark with 97,000 miles - after a full service with my LR dealer, its running like a charm and thankfully had very little issues that needed work - replaced filters, oil change, new vacuum pump, and a new auxillary battery - which always fails but this is why your ECO mode is not working - the aux battery runs this feature and when the battery fails, the ECO mode fails - I had it replaced and its working again.

I bought an LR3 in Istanbul about 3 years ago. When I moved from Istanbul to Berlin in 2022, it was the only thing I regretted selling. After 1 year waiting for the license, Now I'm making the 2nd meeting with the seller to get an LR4 tomorrow. 2011 model HSE w/out panorama, at 200,000 km , full checkbook in land rover service, 14.000k EUR. Now I'm going to make a checklist by watching this video for the 3rd time ! and impersonate you on the appointment tomorrow morning :)

I would recommend DAB adapter with USB port like Dension DAB +U. It is completely hidden ! All controls are from factory radio.

FIRST HERE , sit back and enjoy , nothing like finding faults , from the start .IF he only gave you 20 bucks , is that the amount he spends on the services .The ECO MODE , is now sorted . You Guys really like a challenge . I was in Dover last night and there was a 20 mile queue of faulty LR,s ALL heading to Germany for a make over and a rest to their lives . Good video, thanks. Christian, in the US, there is only 2 vehicle battery makers ; East Penn and Johnson Control. All the different brands label either makers brand as their own. There are ways to tell the differences between manufacturers. Quality differences can be there but not really noticeable visually. Best way is by weight. For flooded batteries, lighter is an indicator of lower power (amps) and less life (less lead).

applicable to USA only. There are more globally, so he has choices. Sitetel (euro), YNC(korean), Dongseo (korean), Yuasa (Japan), Hitachi (Japan). While Johnson controls makes Bosch and Varta batteries, they have factories globally so European choices won't come from USA plants. Personally I prefer korean batteries lately, had horrible experiences with Exide and Johnson batteries.

You are correct N Terrs. However, I'm starting to see batteries from Saudi Arabia, Spain and China start to come in to USA. That being said, it's very limited to select sizes. Are you guys starting to see Lithium batteries in Europe? They're rare and costly in USA.

Eco mode not working is a result of the secondary battery fault. - and essential to reset the BMS after battery replacement.

Low mileage (kilometerage?) and loaded! Nice! I was surprised to hear your excitement for the auto stop/start feature. I've never owned a vehicle with it, but it's a feature that I've always dreaded. I figure it adds complexity and probably extra wear and tear on the engine, while the benefits are minimal (unless you spend a lot of time sitting in traffic, of course).

Most cars with autos and start-stop will only activate if you press hard enough on the brake pedal which makes life easier. You can basically decide for yourself (without pressing the button to turn it off every time you start the car) when you want the engine to stop.

Your car’s Stop/Start will not not save you much. But imagine if every vehicle stopped at the red traffic lights, in both directions, did not have their engines running. How much pollution would be eliminated? Then times that by all the other traffic light controlled intersections in your city.

JLR used that style of locking wheel nut for a while. They are hopeless and I had to get one removed from a Jag by a specialist as when they break they just spin, even with the original unlocking nut. Best replaced with McGard style, which is what newer models now use as well. Great video 👍

Got my Disco 4 3 years ago, black HSE similar to yours Christian, to replace my hard working Disco 3 and it’s by far the best car I’ve ever owned. We live in the midlands in the UK and have a house in the south lot France plus a son at university in Strasbourg, the D4 is not so much a mall crawler for us but an absolute mile muncher. The record so far is 17 hours I one go across Europe, the D4 just lapped it up. If you are prepared to pamper them they pay back in spades, enjoy will be watching to see what you guys do with yours 👍👍

I just bought a 2014 Land Rover Discovery 4 LR4 to be delivered in about a week. I've always been a tinkerer, even with our Mercedes vehicles. I really enjoyed this video, because I'm always looking to save money on minor vehicle repairs. The banter between this lovely couple is also pretty refreshing. Another great video guys but we always thought that German trains run on time unlike the UK. When you were changing the front wiper blades it reminded me of when I was changing mine many years ago. I had the wiper arm up without the blade attached and accidentally knocked it and the spring slammed it onto the windscreen and cracked it OMG. New windscreen required.

ECO Stop/start is dependent on a few factors, but the main one is the condition of the Big Battery ... everything is run from that, and the small battery only briefly takes over keeping canbus systems going whilst the restart occurs to prevent power variation to the modules. We have the same in Jaguars of the same period .. the lesson is change the battery every 5 years or you start getting all sorts of error messages. If working well and you come to a halt with stop/start activating ... the car will shut down when you release your seatbelt - no need to push start button. Sunday is started now for me 😁 I'm surprised you haven't got DAB+ in a 2015 ... you can actually use a DAB+ module from an Evoque

Before I bought my LR3 I had a MB CL and before that a Discovery 4 which I bought of a Russian in Dortmund. He even drove me to Hanau from Dortmund during a snowstorm and I paid 17.800 euros. I had the car and I had a lot of repairs to the anti theft system, the locks needed replacing, the wheel alignment was allover the place and electronic issues some I got to a point where I said enough is enough and sold it a year later for 15.500 euros to two Croatians and boy was that a lot of trouble because those guys falsified my signature on documents, ran uo quite a few tickets before they were forced to re-register the vehicle, and the end I had a lawyer and the police involved with those guys. 😳 I hope you don't regret it too much it might look nice and has some fancy stuff inside but you might ask yourself where does the buck stop one fine day. AS ALWAYS YOU HAVE MADE A GREAT SUNDAY VIEWING , KEEP 'EM COMING

Last time I went to upgrade my disco 3 to a newer one the garage also regretted taking the trade in. Sale price was 9k and they claimed to have spent 6k to get it to pass our national car test 🤣 I felt bad for them but that’s discos. I’d love to upgrade my 3 to a 4 but I think I’ll just keep it and watch your channel to keep repairing it. I also have a jap Pajero which I am doing up so at least when the disco fails I can take the reliable Japanese.

I would keep the LR3 as long as possible. A LR4 is much more complicated. Christian

Those locking wheel nut always do that Christian you have to make sure that the socket is pushed tight onto the wheel nut before trying to undo it. I would get rid of the originals and get a new set off of eBay. They are almost as good a quality as the original LR ones at half the price or less. As for your adaptive headlights , I have that on my 2006 4.2 supercharged Range Rover and I love it, I'm thinking of putting LED lamps in the adaptive lights. I already have Bevinsee LED lamps in the high beam light, to compliment the HID bi zennon dipped beam units and the difference is literally night and day, I will never go back to halogen bulbs ever again.

0730. Your lane discipline sticker on your rear door of disco 3 is absolutely fantastic and a great idea. It wouldn’t work here in UK though as most motorway drivers are either foreign, terrible or just selfish. Great informative videos

That is actually the law here, and if do not obey, you can get fined extremely high. Especailly when the Emergency Rescue Vehicle can't get through to the accident site. 👍👌🙋‍♀️

The new black LR4 looks so beautiful and oh my, had I known all those details here too look at, when buying mine (LR4 2013, bought with 150.000km, now 200.000km). What I learned, that many of the initial errors at this car just went away by driving a while? For example, when I bought mine, both the car key batteries were empty (easy job/low cost though), the AC didn't work and had to be reconditioned for about €150 (you don't check this when buying a car at about 10°C in May…) etc. etc. - Thanks for the great content again, I'm still learning! 🙏🏼

Its great to see the care, and love with the cars, how you guys care about urs subscribers, and of course help a lot of people. Create a secondary channel, but I just found you guys a few days ago.
