I got the 06 H3 and it's like a big ol toy! Like one of those Tonka Trucks, with crawling capabilities of "The Animal" with the claws coming out of the tires.

I had an 08 Adventure and it was a very solid vehicle. Yes more GM than AMG but a good trial vehicle. Comparable to the FJ and Wrangler. I sold the H3 for an 05 H2 and I wouldn’t go back to the H3 due to interior size. Yes the H2 is a dressed up GM but is truly a beast on and off the road. I would recommend both but you won’t regret going bigger. With the EV dropping next year for $100k bows the time to grab either. Should hold value

They're being a little generous with the wording here... "all the dna of the original..." Not even close... no portal hubs, no independent rear, no frame-tucked-in-body, no massive driveline tunnel to give 16" ground clearance...The DNA is all chevy colorado, not H1. With that said, I like my 09 with adventure package just fine (front and rear lockers). Fitted skids/sliders and about 1.5" of lift on 35" rubbers so it actually has about 13" of clearance at the break-over now. It runs tough trails just fine. The Colorado platform is actually very tough though. I've had this thing teetering on 2 wheels many times and crashing and bashing through trails that would twist the frames of many older SUV's. Still drives fine on the highway. Different DNA than a hummer, but still a pretty decent SUV.

Brad Stepp the Jeep Commander was a terrible attempt by DaimlerChrysler to try to take some suckers at face value by telling them it comes anything close to a Hummer. The Commander was a bloated, disgusting, soulless version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Definitely not a serious competitor to the Hummer brand.
