In 2008 I ordered from the factory a manual 5 speed H3 with the Off-road/Adventure package (larger tires, lower range transfer case and diff lockers) and a sunroof. Now 12 years later, it still runs well and I still like driving it.

Nice looking rig. I have a 2006 with inline 5. I love it on the roads and off the roads in the nortwest. It won't win any drag races but then not made for it. This rig almost weighs 5000lbs and weight seems distributed very well. I have pulled neighbors out of ditches a few times even on black ice. When your driving off road it's not a matter of your hp its how you drive it. Happy 4x4ing.

@anthonyiannozzi67772 жыл бұрын
I got the same. 2006 H3 now in yellow with 208,000 miles. Love it. Keeping it forever. It does constanly have the engine light going off and gas cost obviously is rough. Paid a good amount in 2006 but it has only cost me $3,000 per year over the last 16 years in depreciation. Compare that to buying a new SUV at $50,000 to $70,000 today which will kill you in depreciation costs. Now fully depreciated and low maintenace cost.

2006 Hummer H3 owner, bought used with 132k and spent about 4k fixing normal wear and tear items plus valve cover gasket, power steering pump and radiator. The 3.5 5cyl is underpowered but i solved that with E15 gas with 15% ethanol. You can feel the torque and difference in pickup. Gonna get it ready for off roading. Not a cheap vehicle to own but not the most expensive either. I paid cash for mine and will keep a long time.

415,000 km and I’m going to travel across Canada with a trailer on this summer. That’s how confident I am with this rig. Such a gem of a vehicle honestly. Last year I was on Wellington street with the freedom convoy, not much km’s added but it ran 23 days off and on idling for many hours for heat and power. I fix everything as it goes and keep a spare old truck. Wish me luck 🍀 should be a blast this summer.

Some things people don't know, is the 5 speed gets 20 MPG on the highway. It has the same turning ratio as a jeep. It also has electro-mechanical steering and brakes. That means if the engine ever stalls, you can steer and brake just fine.

That’s pretty normal for the h3 and many of them run a little past the middle temperature line. No big deal. Mine has for 8 years. It’s just how they run. You can look it up online. I read years ago that you can upgrade to a thicker aluminum radiator and that brings them temp gauge down.

THIS IS THE BEST H3 REVIEW I'VE COME ACROSS! I have been researching & browsing the h3 for months. I am so eager to buy, but I dont want to buy a dud. I live in MT and I have to shop out of state because there are only 3 in the entire state. I've been looking for 08-2010 with either Alpha or adventure package. I want the cast iron front differential and with the locker comes the 4:1 transfer case. I've been shunning away from the 06-07 years because I read they have valve problems causing blown head gaskets. What is your HONEST opinion about the 06-07 models vs 08-10? Would love your opinion! Anyone else want to chime in, would love your input as well!

Many hummer h3 2006 to 2008 owners are reporting problems with the cold start rough idle when starting the engine causing decreased power in acceleration. The cause of this is a faulty seat valve or wear and tear over time. GM needs to recall the faulty seat valve. I’d skip out on trying to own a 2006-2008 hummer h3 model. Price to repair seat valve could run you up to 3,000 to 5,000 dollars.good luck of your warranty is expired.

@USNVA-yn6cp2 жыл бұрын
seat valve??? kinda like muffler bearings??? or wiper blade grease??
@phuku29272 жыл бұрын
Seat valve? Did you mean valve seat? Nah... Long before any valve issues...it's usually either a dirty MAF sensor or the oil from PCV vent tube mucking up the throttle body/tps sensor. Clean those and it usually takes care of the rough idle issue. The valve seat thing would be much less common.
