On my second tacoma, and id never buy anything else. These trucks are solid, and will NEVER leave you stranded. Ran my last one up to 400000km's (248548 miles) before I rolled it on ice and the only repairs i had to do before that were brakes/tires and one front axle. And the broken front axle still held together and got me home 150 km away!! LOVE TOYOTA.

My Tacoma is super comfortable. I’ve done several 10+ hour road trips and I’m comfortable with no back pain or discomfort. And I upgraded the shocks so it rides good. It’s a 2015 with 115,000 miles and I haven’t had one problem with it

One thing the Tacoma did not changed much over the years is that Toyota is just having too much fun selling this little warrior pick up truck and they are still waiting for the so called "competitive" to catch up. Why change when it isn't broken ???

Tim Dotson Great vehicle is right! My 2002 PreRunner has 477,000 km on it and for the most part I have done nothing other than oil changes, a couple tune ups and a rusted oxygen sensor on the exhaust. Just went in the garage for the repair of a corroded transmission fluid line. Still has all the original belts!! Yes, original! Doesn't use a drop of oil and the body is in excellent condition. I'm in Ontario and have had the truck rustproofed at KROWN every year since new. The dealership inspected the frame when they were offering new frames and we both agreed that my frame was still like new. BEST vehicle I have ever owned.......... hands down!!!

Yeah, I'd like to know where you can get a full sized 4x4 pickup today for around 35K. I shopped for 3 months and reviewed every truck for sale today and the cheapest 4x4 I found was 44K. What brought me back to the Tacoma was resale value. I got a 2015 double cab 4x4 with the TRD Off Road package, plus a couple of other packages for 32K during the sale-a-thon and if I were to sell it right now I could still get 35K. Every other truck out there drops 10-20K after signing the bill. Best resale value of any car, truck, anything, EVER! That's the confidence in these trucks from owners and buyers and no crappy review, probably paid for by Chevy, Ford and Dodge, will change the publics' mind on this truck. Keep on crying. I do like the Frontier too. Nice truck and I almost bought one. Still, resale value over the years, I went with Toyota. Even an 07 still sells for 20K plus. I know this for a fact. I found 4 for that price in my own city and the banks will finance that amount.

Nothing to fix!! It's reliability and quality is the best still!! Which do you prefer folks; a mid truck that has all the comfortability but less reliable or in Tacoma which doesn't need to prove anything at all, it's been proven a decade now just saying?!! The reason I bought my 2013 tacoma 4x4 is because I wanted a truck. If I wanted a car pretending to be a truck I would have bought a ridgeline. Keep trucks as trucks and they will sell. Trucks are continue to get lower and lower with softer suspenions. If the next tacoma goes that route, then this will be my last truck.

I own a 2014 TRD Sport and Its been super reliable truck. It hasn't chance one bit since I've owned it. Its rides like it did the day I bought it. My only complaint is the comfort, I wish it was a little more comfortable other than that Its a excellent Truck. The only reason I most likely complain about that is because I had a back surgery that has failed. If I didn't have a back issue It most likely wouldn't bother me one bit. I do not plan on selling my truck in the near future, I'm still very happy with my purchase. Why you may ask cause its one dern good Truck! btw many folks, there are a lot of different models of the Tacoma on the market the best thus far in many folks opinion is the second generation. Which this model is, so that alone is another reason why I will not depart from owning this truck.

Well here is my story and how I feel about it. My first Toyota was bought brand new 94. It had the 22R, 4WD regular cab 5 speed manual gearbox, manual hubs, and manual windows. I loved that truck but it wasn't very comfortable at all. I gave it to my dad in 98 and got another. This time I purchased an extended cab 3.4 V6 5 speed manual TRD package, auto hubs, power windows and AM/FM/CD/Cassette. This was just after they had the recall with the 96-97 3.4 V6 head gasket issues. I never had any problems with this truck either. I ran it hard for over 100K miles, traded again in 2001 for another extended cab 3.4 V6 4WD. I then traded in 2007 for the newer Tacoma. After 130K highway miles, the driver side front wheel bearing failed while driving, costing me 4,300.00 in repairs. The bearing housing, CV axle shaft, brake rotor, caliper, ABS sensor all had to be replaced. I fixed it and let it go back. I was furious. A friend of mine in Tulsa had a decent 1981 Hilux straight axle so I bought it from him and drove it and this is my all time favorite truck of them all. I now have a 13 Tacoma TRD Sport 4WD with 15K highway miles and so far the passenger side brake caliper was caught leaking fluid due to a deformed seal. It is my opinion that the newer model Tacos are superior in many ways but I do see a falter in quality. Toyota is all have ever driven other than the 83 F150 I learned how to drive in. The good news with Toyota is that we MIGHT have a 4.2L diesel for the Tacoma for '16 and im praying hard for that one!

This is a review geared toward average white-collar worker consumers. Obviously, no one cares about zero to sixty, noise, hard seats, or obstacle courses in a work/off road truck. They don't even talk about the importance of torque or test carry/towing capacity. Next, they're going to say a Jeep is a bad car because it doesn't feel good on the 8am commute. It's all about how you use your vehicle

It amuses me to hear the Tacoma is small. Certainly proves all things are relevant, especially when compared to the standard cab Toyota truck I purchased new back in 1986. Measured against that truck, it's huge, yet against a full-size truck, it can seem small. Parking spaces and garages can be a limiting factor when choosing a truck, however, the cost and fuel mileage put up a good argument for a full-sizer.

Hi guys! I bought a 2013 Toyota Tacoma! So far so good, but I found an ad about what issues with the engine in 2013! Toyota Motor Engineering & manufacturing of North America (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Tacoma vehicles manufactured July 1, 2013 through October 11, 2013. Engines affected vehicles contain valve springs that can break over time. If the valve spring break, the engine may stall and not while driving, increasing the risk of accident. Help! Tell me how to find out whether my car one of these?

People stop complaining about full sized trucks being compared to smaller cars small trucks etc. The only reason they do that is because there are stupid people buying oversized trucks or full sized trucks. And SUV's. Think about it. Oversized or full sized trucks and SUV'S are a waste of money. Buy Fucking Car that is suited for city driving and family transportation!!!! Trucks and pick-up trucks are not made for city driving or family transportation. What is wrong about buying a car that is more suited driving in the city?! Or buying an gas saving small car!? Mini-vans are for family transportaition. Or mid sized sedans.

As a 2010 owner now for 11 years, why do they never speak to the fact that it is easier to take a mid-size truck around a city area? Look at the way populations have increased around metro areas, and it makes total sense to own one of these trucks. Yes, full-size trucks can be nice, but if you want a practical no overly priced, ultra-reliable, real world truck that you don't have to worry about getting a scratch or ding......get a Tacoma. It will do 99% of what you need. My only real world experience where more truck might we wanted is if you tow often. Other than that...yeah this does the job and does it well. It's certainly not a Cadillac but is by far from uncomfortable to me.

And thats why trucks rarely come with manual transmissions and is dead in the full sized trucks. To many city boys wanting trucks to perform like a car...wake up its a truck design for towing off-roading, and work. As it stands the only full sized truck that has an offered manual transmission is the dodge ram 2500 turbo diesel. I wish they would leave the option because there are still those of us that prefer to control our vehicle not let it drive itself.

Criticising the most selling mid-size truck that sold almost 3 times more that its current competitor is a very good move to try and lower its reputation, but people forget that the proof is in the pudding. The only thing they can improve is mpg with a diesel engine made to last like the gas engine, and when that happens my friend... it will KILL the competition. On looks its pretty awesome if you ask me, and take a look at the new TRD Pro, its badass. The rest is meaningless changes, not major engineering.

The only reason it's stayed relevant is there really isn't any competition...if Ford made a new Ranger or when Chevy releases the new Colorado, Toyota will have to update the Tacoma or it will be drastically outsold by it's competitors
@howdithdoodith7263
@howdithdoodith7263 11 жыл бұрын
Actually, that is why Chevrolet stopped making a mid-size and Rangers (whom are still made) are not sold in the US. The Tacoma has dominated the US market to the point it's unfeasible to compete.
@stanbernadino
@stanbernadino 11 жыл бұрын
Howdith Doodith Actually the reason they stopped making compact pickups is American demand for them isn't that high. Otherwise Toyota would step up their game and improve the model. Ford doesn't need the Ranger because it sold almost 800,000 F-Series last year, and Toyota doesn't really compete in the full size game.

True that, the headlights make it look old now. This 2013 Taco is the last good looking Taco. The new Ranger and the Colorado are turning heads right now. Its the resurgence of the small truck. reliability is classic on the taco as always, but Ford, nissan and Chevy are coming up with better looking trucks (Ranger, Titan Warrior), Toyota needs to restyle the exterior again for 2018 at least.
