It's a car worth when it was released, and even today north of $100,000 USD. That's AMG, M3/5, Jaguar, Porsche Carrera money... all of which have beautiful interiors.

price,performance,depreciation,feeling,fuel economy,insurance value/cost,service cost . do the mathematics, a better car than a corvette cant be bought and owned, i had my 08 z06 for 3 seasons , no repairs, you just rev it,fuel it,change tires,break pads and oil . my opinion!!

11.8 at 126 is very slow rating.This car does far better than that .I ran 11.6 at 127.9 with my c6 z06,Now i got a 2011 zr1.Its definitely a 130 mph plus trap speed and low 11 s on stock tires.

Excellent test of a phenomenal car. No bias, just the facts. But I will say that the braking and 1/4 mile are absolutely nothing to be proud of. Even the hacks at Inside Line managed to get an 11.5 at 128mph in a standard ZR1(no Sport Cups), and Motor Trend ran an 11.2 at 130. As far as braking goes, almost everyone has managed to stop the ZR1 in under 100ft(current record being MT with 96ft, again with no Sport Cups), so I think there was some brake fade there. Still a great test, though.

That's an interesting thing to say, I've been scoping out ZR1's and Z06's and there havn't been any within a 200 mile radius of me that have sat for more than a couple days or a few weeks which by sales standards is epically fast.

My friend chris has this exact spec car original owner he sent me this video he just turned 8800 miles..zr1 is the only model i didnt have in a corvette the future i left a place open for it

They mainly did that because their competitors at the nurburgring were using slicks to claim fastest times(see nissan GTR). As a result, the ZR1 took the fastest time back.

yes,your right, and i went to last year cars exhibition in dubai, the grand sport vette had no door handles, just buttons, the windows were open,many poeple including me tried to open the corvette door from inside but it will not open,that was freakin scary,i am a big fan of the corvettes c4 and c6 and the ZR1,check out my favoraites.

That man let his friend drive his corvette at a wedding and the guy crashed it (turned off traction control and drove like a fool) hitting a ditch and rolled it and walked away. The car was totaled and the doors still opened.

Don't worry. Lots of unsold ZR1 sitting at the lots collecting dust with no buyers in sight. They are offering almost $15,000 cashback locally at my dealership. Until the complete sht interior, ancient technology with a sat nav from the 90s and those fiber glass plastic on the rear quarter panels are not ditched, they will struggle making this car compete with the big boys.

I worked at a GM dealership as a mechanic an ever since the vetts have come out with the electronic doors they have had a security system which in the event of a roll over will allow for the door to me opened manually with slight force. the car is full of sensors to tell the computer system everything from where the car has been struck to what angel its sitting at when it comes to rest.

carefull, the corvette is deathtrap, 1 of my friend died,he crashed around simi mountain area,the car flipped over, he could not get out, because the corvette doors have no door handles and can only be opened if power not cut from battery,while crashed your power is cut, you cant get out, my friend burned to death :(,so just be carfull, if you realy like this car or you will drive a rented one,then keep a small hummer inside, to break the glass,if the doors wont open.

The only reason GTR's are cheaper is because there made out of fiberglass from pretty much the ground up, that's why they only need a 6 cylinder engine to move so fast. If you look at all corvette accidents even the worst instant fatality accidents where car parts are scattered all over or the front is completely destroyed the doors are still open. They likely still have power or automatically open in the event of a accident. The way I know your story is bullshit is because cars don't just catch fire when rolled it takes much more than that and I have a friend who specializes in fixing corvettes that have been in accidents and races them.

NO /HAHAHAAAHAHAHAH They used a pre production ZR1 wich is 1510KG the 2012 Centennial edition which is what it's supposed to be weights 1520KG (look it up) And then they usd AS FACT Sparco EVO I racing seats which weight 8.4KG each plus 5KG for the rails and the ZR1 not even stock LOL!
