I never tested the Blackbird, but after 20.00km with this I can assure you it is a GREAT bike well worth any compare. Back suspension and average tank capacity aside it is really close to perfection, smooth and brutally powerful when requested.

Bought a beautiful 9 year old one with luggage 2 years ago for £5k. Only had 4000 miles on clock. Great on quick roads especially....not so great in traffic in town as is a heavy bike. Looking forward to touring this year ...it's a mile muncher. Engine is very quick and handles well at speed. Finish is quality.

This bike has had more shit thrown at it by Moto journos than any bike ever. As a used buy it cannot be beaten and that is a fact.

I’ve just got a 2012, 9k on the clock. It’s faultless apart from at the most speed it can sound a bit mechanical. Deceptively fast, I thought the Speedo was wrong!!

Very true. I bet a lot are from ppl that’s never ridden the bike. I plan on getting one I’ve seen a dealer selling at a great price and with the exception of a minor scratch or two in great shape. The only knock I have on it is it’s limited range with the 4.9 gallon tank. But that’s not a deal breaker.

Either this bike should have been redesigned as the replacement for the ST1300, or Honda should have taken the engine and placed it in the VFR800 chassis.
