For sure automatic is convenient but this may be a last era of manual after 10yrs there may be a no such thing.

I have both a City Manual of mine and Jazz CVT of my wife. The City manual is an excellent driver's car provided you get the roads to give it a go. Fully enjoyable. However in the bumper to bumper traffic of city roads and even congested highways the CVT is a boon. No leg pain trying to manage clutch in the hopeless traffic and road conditions. Mileage is also same or even better in the CVT.

I have a creta ....2018 model diesel automatic ...... And I have bought the new verna turbo petrol also ....I feel the gear box on the creta feels much better than the verna ......because in traffic and real world conditions the creta feels easier to drive in the city......and the mileage is amazing......I live in trichy ......the creta went from trichy to Chennai then to Mahabalipuram and back to trichy in a single tank no refill.....I was maintaining speeds from 90 to 160 .....with 5 passengers full luggage ...now the verna.... i traveled from trichy to kodai ...(I know it's hills) ......it was excellent in sports mode .... previous have driven the creta many times to kodai ....I know the road by heart.......but the creta felt much more responsive in overtaking than the verna ......leave the mileage.....but i feel the lag in the verna's gear box

Fantastic Episoe. One thing to add about about DSG/DCT , one classification is based on whether it is a DRY Clutch or WET Clutch. Dry Clutch (DQ200, Hyundai 1.0 DCT ) Wet Clutch (DQ300 etc). The wet clutch is decently reliable. Most of the issues are with the Dry Clutch Transmission.

I always prefer manual Transmission, due to the increase in Traffic , especially in Chennai and Bangalore.. I thought of Automatic , AT , but finally I dropped and purchased a manual, having certainly know, in the near future, Automatic is going to rule the Automotive industry.. and if we are very specific about manual transmission, We must pay more and wait for a long period..

DCT is also an automated manual transmission, think of it as 2 AMT working together. AMT/AGS is much more similar to a DCT than any other transmissions. AMTs will only continue to improve in future.

the main feature of the DCT is its two clutch, and one engaged and another ready to engage. the complication sits in the way the gears are selected. AMT can we improved but cant match the DCT and AMT is not for powerful cars.

I have a doubt on automatic car gear bro, when we drive automatic cars and while we are in signal, do we need to move it to neutral or we can keep it in drive mode itself? I'm in US now, here mostly we have automatic cars, and I heard from US mechanic, they recommend to keep the car in drive mode itself, as nowadays cars will understand whether car stopped or moving so it will not doing bad to clutch internally, but from my experience in automatic car I feel like neutral feels the car unloaded (where as when we are in drive mode feels like car loaded with gear). What do you suggest, I want not to harm the engine and gear box in terms of reliability?

I've a budget of 8L. Narrowed down on Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Sportz AMT. Is it a good option or should I consider something else? We are a family who've never had Automatic transmission vehicle. @mw team. I am planning to buy New Nexon Facelift 2023. I am bit confused on going for Nexon DCA petrol variant or Nexon Diesel AMT. Could you please suggest which one would be better for both city and highway ride. Even though DCA provides smoother but as nexon is providing DCA with 1.2L turbo with 3 cylinders, so its better to go for diesel AMT or still DCA with 3 cylinders of 1.2L petrols provides better performance than diesel.

You missed Toyota Camry for CVT example, which is more fuel efficient. Although main reason for fuel efficiency is the hybrid engine. Also you failed to mention the DSG failure at ambient temperatures in VAG cars - which are mostly highway driven. Changing DSG in Octavia costs 2-2.5 lakhs, not 1 lakh
