"Saturday Gigs" alone calls for a motion picture about this band! Everytime i hear the first note of "All The Young Dudes" i get chills like most rock fans naturally get, but it's more intense now when i hear it because i know Mott's number one fan wrote it for them and he is now gone! I will always love these dudes! From Bowie to Bolan to Queen 👑!!!! I know they weren't just limited to just the glam genre because they obviously had some wonderful styles going on before the "suits and the platform boots" came along! But something about the glitter days just does something magical to my soul. When i watch the BBC version of Roll Away The Stone it's like a rock n roll storm taking place. Ian's personality and how he moves around however he wants just shows that he was in command as a perforner. He raises his arms in the air and just does whatever comes natural and i think he is such a fucking genius for being himself and i just love the whole line-up through the years. Mott The Hoople was way before my time but i still get that rock n roll feeling just the same. I can't believe they thought they let people down when Ian Hunter is 80 years old still doing it. Maybe they did disappoint fans in those days but they sure did pull me out of some hard times when i discovered them. Anyway Ty for posting and i love you Ian Hunter and all the rest of you dudes! You got up there and you're still up there! 🙏

I was actually on holiday in the Isle Of Man when I first heard All The Young Dudes.... just 14 at the time! And Saturday Gigs will always make me shed a tear or two!

Love this--absolutely! Tour canceled just before they reached Austin. I was bummed.

I had tix to see them in Nashville. I did get to see Ian's 80th birthday shoes at the City Winery in Anaya's and the were fabulous!

HAPPY ROCK AND ROLL...CAN'T BEAT IT...because most of today's Rock is so bad, I discovered a lot of beautiful HAPPY AND ROMANTIC ...MUSICA LATINA CANCIONS(LATIN MUSIC SONGS)...Greta Van Fleet is fantastic...I haven't yet listened to their newest release...I don't like their serious faces on their new release...going to listen to one song right now...I always lived MOTT THE HOPPLE...even when I was YOUNG-ERRR!!!

Ariel was a great laugh live. He has so much personality. Unfortunately his thumb picking style does him absolutely no favours. Great performance otherwise.

Agreed - the guy's a numpty (and I mean that in the nicest possible way!). Notice Ian was guiding him all the way though... Brilliant night - I won't forget that show for a long time!

@@mcalder69 Oh yeah, I mean his playing was sloppy but he was without a doubt the most entertaining of the lot. Any band would be lucky to have such a great performer haha.

@@mcalder69: When Bender was in Spooky Tooth in the late '60s, he was a guitarist to rival anyone. Something happened to his playing. He was still good in Mott in '73/'74, but hit-and-miss. Brilliant on the live album, of course, but his solo on Saturday Gigs (before Mick Ronson came in) was atrocious. That's mainly why they elbowed him out. I prefer Ralphs and Ronson, really - music over image every time.

@@GreenerHill his playing on the live album is awful. Have you ever listened to the solo on WWAM? Apparently not.
