The $5 Stridor clearance prices have messed with people and they see Night Stalker at $33 being too much. I ordered two so obviously I’m immune to such pricing mind tricks.

Yeah... I got 2 as well... Still... I'm not regreating about it, yet... Once it arrives to my country, I'll need to pay around $20 extra for each one... FkkKk 🤕 🤢

I'm from the UK and when I order stuff, for example, from the States, then the hapless 'Import Tax' is 15% of the order's price at most; sometimes it's "only" like 10% or so. But even so, it is still a pain in the bum to pay for it. But your case.... well.... it's a totally different league, unfortunately. 😞 It's disgusting!

@@RetroToyEscapades Mate, it's possible to even exceed the quality of factory paint if you use airbrush and mr color lacquer paints. The only thing you cannot compete with the factories are tampo/pad printed decals.

I suspect this is the result of so many collectors frustrated with, poor distribution, releases that werent available for international customers, and instantly sold out exclusives, basically making collecting the line impossible, resulting in collectors completely giving up on the origins line. I dont blame them, i have pretty much given up on it at this point and inly interested in trying to get the remaining characters from the original line. Mattel really handled the origins line poorly and the brand manager should be replaced. At this point they should just move to a made to order preorder system like motu classics

Not that surprising considering Stridor is still on Mattel Creations. Non-Clearance with a max of 10. It is likely that there actually were less Nightstalkers produced, but not a ton of demand for either of the Robotic Horses.

Surprised it's still available in a way. I hope that this doesn't mean that Mattel will cool off on wanting to make any more vehicles :( I do sorta miss the fast sell out days for the excitement factor. But it's a lot better that we've ad more time to get things. Why do you guys think that Origins stuff is usually the fastest to sell out, is hardest to find, and demands the most money for rare pieces? It's no coincidence that I was drawn back into toy collecting in the lockdown due to MOTU Origins. It's the coolest toy line that's came along sine the 3.75 O-Ring GiJoes.

The only people that miss the fast sell out days of MOTU Origins are scalpers or people that buy to flip the 2nd one to subsidise the cost of their purchase.

I was also expecting them to sell out fast, I purchased mine right away, and yea I agree with the excitement factor of purchasing them online and the fast sell out, but at the same time it sucks if you can’t purchase one and all of the damn scalpers ruin it. Hopefully they finish producing the vehicles even if this doesn’t sell well, but to be honest none of the vehicles really sold well, I purchased this one because I had it as a kid. Yea origins is the coolest toy line in my opinion and TMNT because those are the two I grew up with and Origins definitely got me back into collecting in 2021 and probably also had to do with the pandemic as well.

The hype died when Stridor went on clearance. Mattel took too long to launch this. I ended up just repainting a Stridor.

I dont think any of the vehicles did well to be honest. This is just the first vehicle on Mattel Creations, so of course it's tanking. They take up too much room for one, and also many people didnt have much of the vehicles when they were kids so they can live without them. If this was Two-Bad or Modulok it would be a quick sell out, but a vehicle that many didnt own? I bought one b/c I alwasy wanted Stridor and Nightstalker but never had either.

Agree, most dont have the space for playsets and vehicles, its not a reflection on the quality of the item here.

Didn't Fright Zone lose the fan poll? I think since people think full 100% vintage completion won't happen (with vehicles/playsets anyway), people aren't as hot on these. Figures yes, everything else no.

Another reason I think affects the sales: unlike the figures, which a lot of buyers got 2 or 3, I hear a lot of people saying they’ll just buy 1 Night Stalker. I got 3 but I believe I’m in the minority. With figures getting 3 is the majority I believe. This is 3 times less sales for a big demographic with Night Stalker

It bothers me how long the box is. I want to see how this thing is packaged inside. Nightstalker has dimensions of almost a square (7.5 inches tall and 8 inches long), and that box is one long arse rectangle. Would be fun if the little winged creatures were packaged inside. I wonder if they had made the base of the stand a cool bridge that connects snake mountain to viper tower, if this horse would have been something everyone that owns a snake mountain would want?

Edit: Mr Home Arcade has the first full review up, and to my surprise the box is the same exact size than the Stridor bid without flap. It felt like it was longer in proportion than that, in first stock pictures. The box is elongated with narrow girth because the Night Stalker is packed-in with all legs sideways (horizontally) I believe it’s the only way it could fit in a box of that format. We’ll see when we get it in hand

I guess that they produced enough Night Stalkers in hopes of mass retailing them but failed to find a partner? Still, if they are already ready to go, why haven't I got a shipping notice? That happened fast with Extendar and Sy-Klone. Glad I didn't invest in one to resell. Part of it is vehicles and mounts in general, which some people skip due to the space they take up and just lack of interest. I think resellers also know that this is a lower profit item because of that and more of hassle because of the box size. I fully admit, had this not been Creations and retail or even fan channel online stores, I would not have ordered one and waited for mark down (or never). I get less out of the vehicles and steeds personally.

I think part of the reason Night Stalker is still hanging around is because it's a "vehicle" and one that really hasn't ended up in the too much animated media. It makes me wonder how like the Battle Ram (my personal fav) would do.

They would have to Kickstart that Ram straight out the gate! But yes I’m surprised that one hasn’t already been done. The strained Sky Sled sales probably did not help

@@RetroToyEscapades Sadly I beleive you are correct. I do think what really hampered the sky sled sales was including Prince Adam with it. I think they would have sold better with a generic eternian guard or the pilot character Classics made

I think it has to do with the price and that strydor is so cheap right now, I got it for $6 the other day. I was going to buy Night stalker but by the time I got to check out, it was almost $50 because of shipping and tax. I thought to myself there are still other motu figures out there that I really want for my collect that I would rather spend $50 than nightstalker so I passed on it.

For me the price is fair, but it’s not a deal. The n there probably some general brand fatigue. For all intents and purpose , orgins should be over. Then there’s the chore of having to order through Mattel Creations. It’s getting old. At this point a fairly priced subscription program to finish out the line would be appreciated.

I dont buy vehicles or playsets as dont have the space, its no reflection on the quality of this item. I can fit like 6x figs in the same display space as a Night Stalker

Do readers here know that there are still a lot of countries to which Mattel Creations doesn’t ship to? They currently ship to 20 countries, which is a lot but still many international fans & collectors have to rely on the secondary market like eBay to get items from Mattel. This might be affecting sales to a degree; I’m not sure how big. I’m residing in Japan and feel very lucky to be able to order my deliveries here, as Japan is one of only two countries in all Asia that Mattel ships to, with Singapore. I was wondering how collectors like you, Kenneth, get their MC items to Malaysia, is it through the intermediary of online store(s) or such?

Not that I would ever pay the asking price plus shipping and import charges for this metal horse that doesn't even come with Jitsu but Mattel will not even ship to my country. Ebay is already saturated with this dead horse for outrageous prices. I wonder how long Mattel will continue to beat it with the exclusive pre-order until they finally cave in and start distributing it to retailers.

Don't get it, Night Stalker looks awesome. I personally got 2 of them but I guess the community wants figures over vehicle's and mounts. Through the entire history origins vehicle's and the mounts always go on clearance.

The 40 years 4 pack... Aarhrj Feels like the HotWweels Optimus Prime... You are basically paying for cardboard to display your figures... And half of them don't really look that great. I decided and preferred to order 10 Vikrons... Yes... It's great for custom's (in My opinion). EvilThing... Meeh... I got 2, just for the price ... And Motherboard... I fkng regret buying it at full price... Even at sale price is NOT whort it. Feels cheap and lacks a lot of everything that the Masterverse already offers. Including the local taxes and extra shiet to be shipped to my country, I ended paying $110.00!!! 😡🤬 The plastic feels like "Spinmaster's" Batwing.
