I'm pretty psyched about that Moss Man. When Funko stopped making the Savage World DC guys, I started using some of the Masters of the WWE figures in the line to kinda fill some gaps, like Rey Mysterio as Hawkman and I used the flaming head Scorpion figure from the Funko Mortal Kombat as Firestorm. This Moss Man is gonna make a great Swamp Thing

Shredder is clearly a dragon. Got to have an April/teela figure and a robot/metal head figure Also shogun Choate would be perfect for this line.

I'm super excited to see them coming out with more figures than were displayed on the promo shot. Moss Man and Slash look so awesome and I love they confirmed that Trap Jaw's mouser parts can combine into a full mouser. Ram Man looks pretty good in the translucent purple and Moss Man in the translucent green looks really good against the yellow. It looks like the original idea was mutating the heroic masters and having the turtles take their places. He-Man and Ram Man are mutated being replaced by Raphael who has Ram Man's Armor, Leonardo has He-Man's harness and the sword of Power, and Donatello is wearing Man At Arms' armor so having Man At Arms not be mutated as well is weird but maybe they will explain that in the mini comics. Can't wait to see who Mikey gets crossed with and what they do with Kasey Jones, Teela, and Splinter

What I know about theser: Leo's swords can be combined into a full Power Sword, called the Power Katana. The turtles' (Sla'Ker included) shells can be removed and used as shields. Man-At-Arms can do the same with his shell shield as well. Krang's robot body does not use the Andre the Giant torso, it's just the standard torso. The capsule that Krang himself is in can be removed. and in addition to the axe, he also comes with a flail that can also replace his hands. Raph's helmet can be removed, and he comes with two large Sais, one of which is rigged in a gauntlet like style. Mutated Ram-Man comes with both axes from his Origins figure. Shredder's weapons are a Foot Clan styled battle axe and a Horde Crossbow. Mutated Moss Man comes with a energy hand styled weapon, and two accessories that allows you to replace his head with a Venus flytrap. Sla'Ker's weapons are a pair of daggers with spiked knuckle guards. Beast Man has shoulder guards, and a shield.

The only one I had interest in was The Shredder and now I've seen him...... He's also a pass sadly! It's a fun idea and it's execution is great I'm just not personally liking the designs that much! I have an Origins collection and the playmates Turtles. None of the toys so far are making me want to pick them up over the others sadly. It is what is is for me but hey, I hope others enjoy them! ❤

100% pass for me and I think I speak for most discerning Origins collectors. Most of us are just focused on getting the remaining vintage characters. These make me feel like that's not going to happen. They will tank the line with things like this before we get the figures people really want.

Why on earth won’t they finish off the vintage line? They have stated many times that the vintage Origins is going to continue. Just because we aren’t seeing those figures being announced, doesn’t mean they’re not coming out.

If "origins" figures they make sell horribly before they get around to "finishing the vintage line" or crowdfunding projects fail to get backed, it could give Mattel a reason to not make more figures. I don't think that's uncommon in the industry. Sure, they know they could make guaranteed money from a couple waves of the remaining characters but considering the tooling cost and effort vs return for just those few characters, I'm not sure. I think all these extras are telling us they want/need to sell more extra "filler" items in the meantime if we want those final vintage characters somewhere down the road. You need to keep their "origins" line alive by buying filler. I won't. The vintage stuff isn't enough for them to keep going if these types of items fail. I don't see them throwing fans a bone and banging off the tooling for the remaining vintage figures if they get a bad taste from the next bunch of pre-orders and crowdfunds under-performing, which is possible.

I don't see how this benefits either TMNT or MOTU, and reeks of desperation from two product teams who are stuck, don't know how to grow their IP, but still need to roll out something to keep them busy. Time will tell, but feels like not just jumping the shark but summersaulting over the shark 🦈 The worst sin of all is how bland all the designs are, from two of the most exciting and innovative almost bizarrely designed lines of the 80s. If you're gonna go nuts, go nuts.
