That was a very interesting video Anna, shot beautifully, as always. There are some beautiful views and a somewhat sad and eerie feeling too, I think I'd be a bit spooked there at night. Thank you for this very enjoyable wander around another piece of Japan's history.

Another beautiful, thought provoking video on another aspect of Japan, whatever humans discard or abandon, nature in all it's beauty slowly replaces decay with life. As always beautifully filmed.

A beautiful video again showing us parts of Japan's history that we would normally never get to see. I love to see nature reclaim it all back too, it makes a beautiful "urban jungle" when it returns, Thank you again Anna.

Hello Anna, what's your stabilization secret to achieve these beautiful moves ? What kind of gear do you use ? There are no Z axis artfacts ! Thank you
Even if the coal mine is closed, it is still active as an island with residents. It's lonely because the only stores that are open properly are public baths and cafeterias, but it's a lot to see. I stayed at Ikeshima Kaikan and took a coal mine tour, but it was a wonderful course to get to know this island.

This is a fascinating video. It is amazing how nature is taking over those buildings. It appeared to once be a very large industrial complex with thousands of people working and living there. Looks like there might still be a few people living there. You have filmed it wonderfully as always. Thank you Anna.

Incredible video Anna, it took me thru a whole range of emotions from feeling sad that Ikeshima is now abandoned, eerie/scared about being around all of these old buildings knowing no one else is there, nostalgic about the history of the island and the role it played in Japan's history. The music was perfect for the video. I'm not sure I could walk around Ikeshima all by myself, I would be constantly looking over my shoulders ready to run! Thank you again for sharing your talents with all of us.

This is so surreal to me, Anna. I can't believe a place like this actually exists. It looks like a town in a post-apocalyptic Hollywood movie. You nailed the BGM as well. I felt the sorrow for the families that once thrived here. The song "Beautiful Disaster" from 311 popped into my head 2 min. into the video. Alot of your films show towns without people that look like ghost towns...but this place IS the epitome of a ghost town. To see Mother Nature taking back what's rightfully her's......is just powerfully ironic. Wish i could tap the like button 1,000 times.

🎯🛑Greetings Anna !! Ikeshima Island is definitely an amazing location reminis-- cent of the Coal Mines & the people who were employed in these mines,,some years ago.The first glimpse of the Ferry Terminal is stunning with its picturesque views. The visuals of the Coal Loading Machines,Coal Preparation Plant is brilliantly captured through your lens & adds up to the sense of awe & interest surrounding this place. An astounding object of interest is the long rows of deserted buildings,,once home to the miners,,now covered with dense growth of green climber plants & leaves, creating an element of nostalgia of bygone days,, 👇👇 ♾️🎯

I appreciate your work. I have an interest in places that have been abandoned. I wonder about the history of the places, spaces where people lived their lives, spent their days - the echos of conversations long past. Native Americans believe that wisdom sits in places. What wisdom has been lost to the rust? I had seen one other video about Ikeshima. Totally different style from yours and that is OK because they compliment each other. As you make your way around the island, I think about the many lives that intersected in this place of rust and cats. What do the cats think? There are still people who live on the island. How they may feel as the concrete crumbles slowly to the dust it came from. Some day the cats will be the custodians of this place. Your video recording is - as always - excellent. Great musical choices and details. I also appreciate that you were respectful of the locals. The island is a memorial to a way of life that will soon disappear. Your recording is a snapshot of that disappearance. Thank you, Anna.

As usual you always make GREAT VIDEO with your creativity. Ferry Terminal segment, I immediately remembered your video entitled "Walking Around the Town of Ponyo" (Since I really enjoy and Love That Video, Then I Will Give you a 5 Star). Then in the Clockwise Course segment, you made a video of an abandoned place and it looks so beautiful. The Minecraft Entrance, Coal Loading Machine, Coal Preparation, Old Power Plant and Desalination Plant segments made me remember the STEAM BOY Movie. The rusty building makes the scenery beautiful to look at. The First Shaft Sinking segment reminds me of the Japanese horror films I've watched (The Ring and others, Even I was not like Japanese Horror Movie). Then there are Segments of Eight Story Workers Apartment Complex and Former Site of Workers Apartment, so I remember the video that Chris Broad made in his KZbin account entitled Journey Across Japan: The Lost Islands, you revived my memory. But you provided a spectacular view for us your fans. Of all the Segments, I only liked 1 and that was the Ikeshima Walking Around Segment and the CounterClockWise Course Segment (I give you another 5 Star here because I really like the scenery). Thankyou, Anna. You are Truly master in this craft. One of the Master Videographers.👏🏻👍🏻
