What is everyone’s favorite cellular trail cam? Have you used the Moultrie Delta? If so tell us how you’ve liked it?!
@grr1483 Жыл бұрын
I just purchased two of the Moultrie Delta Base cameras along with their solar panel and security boxes and love them so far. I had two other trailcams before these but they were cheap Chinese junk, no Moultrie brand. I'm very impressed with the Moultrie app. I was not aware you can track your trail cams via their internal GPS. If that is correct, I definitely made the right choice.

The camera probably started sending photos when you were there because you being there improved the antenna’s reception/transmission capability:)

Can you use a pay as you go, data SIM card from att or Verizon?

@ 2:43 idk if you can use this camera with out it being in cellular mode because you can only change the settings in the app. I have 2 of them and I thought about doing that out of hunting season. I had one camera mess up and not work Moultrie replaced it with ease. the other camera has work amazing from the start and so has the replacement. issue I have is cell service but thats all on where its placed

My understanding is you have to initially enroll in the cheapest monthly plan in order to activate the camera a ND adjust your settings/ preferences. Then once you complete the initial setup, you then simply cancel the cellular plan and they will run only on the SD card.

What card did you use? Moultrie‘s direction a bit confusing. Got 32GB but they are all high speed.

If you don't have a cell plan could you use the app? How would you set up the camera?
@TheStakstak33332 жыл бұрын
I just talked with Moultrie, you have to get the cheapest plan to even the camera set up if you want to use it without the monthly plan. I think that's pretty lousy, I definitely wouldn't have bought 2 of them had I known this before.

I purchased 3 of them when they first came out. I had nothing but issues with them. No service in great service areas, camera eating the batteries, all black night time photos etc. I gave them the chance to fix the issues but everytime it was it needs a firmware update, sd card is bad, needs lithiums. Meanwhile I was using their cards and energizer lithiums. I was just not impressed. I purchased Spartans and I have been so impressed at how bulletproof they are. Also the gps function on the moultries doesn’t work if someone pulls batteries or takes the antenna off. It’s not like the gps feature on a Spartan where they have an internal battery that keeps the gps functional no matter what

Well for 150$ I’d buy the Spartans too. But I don’t have that kind of money.

Tactacam Reveal- any of the models they have now. Cost effective , monthly plans are good, easy to setup.

@@tinesdownia yes we have liked the tactacam as well. All the plans are all very similar to the Moultrie with price and ease of set up.

@@BrunkOutdoors so if you had 2 cams with plan 1. It would be 10$?

I thought about getting a couple of these but after seeing the reviews of it and with my cell phone service that provides the app for this and AT&T said being I was going to place it on my property close to my house I should be able to even connect it to my Wi-Fi ... I should have to pay for the service they are asking because I'll be paying an extra couple of bucks to AT&T for The use of the app to support the camera ... So I'll just buy a security camera ... Because I've used trail cameras on my property for 4 years to see if anyone's trespassing and I've got away to keep people from stealing trail cameras ... Put it this way they better bring a very heavy duty chainsaw with plenty of gas because once they start on the first tree they'll never make it to the other 11 trees ... And they better have them power tools charged up good if they think they are getting them SD cards out hahaha... And I'm a woman that figured out how to prevent anyone from stealing trail cameras ... Just saying there's a way to stop a thief from stealing them
