Eddie, just watched this as it came into my feed - great video, really enjoyed your fresh look at the Mournes. Have walked every inch you walked and know how tough it is, really tough. Glad you got sone great views and met plenty of people. Donard is always very popular, but the further you get from it the less people you will see. No easy peaks in the Mournes!! Regards, Ashley

thanks very much Ashley, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day. I just see you did the 7 7's, congrats on that, that's a fairly daunting hike to do, but well done. I have to say watching the video its great to have been on at least two of the peaks and to have seen a few of the others. 👍

@@eddieforde Eddie, it was as tough as it gets, thanks to James I made it round but only just. From now on I'm going to stick to 1 or 2 peaks at a time. The Mournes is tough hiking as the paths, in my opinion, are not great, except for Donard, but the rewards are great. Binnian and Bearnagh are superb mountains and the summit views are incredible. Will check your channel out too, I'm sure I'll learn lots!! Regards, Ashley

So far so good anyway. Yea, getting there the night before I’m finding in not as wrecked after the day. Tired from the hike, but not from the driving and that’s very noticeable already. i think the last time i went with the 2 lads was around 6.5 hours, and they were waiting for me a good bit. This time between the vlogging , the drone , the photography and the chronic lack of fitness, it took around 9 or 10 hours. And thats taking into account all the getting ready for the above.. It's the reason i dont give times in the videos as its not a true representation of the hike, time wise.... If you were just going for the pure hike with the usual stops etc. it would be considerably shorter. Thanks again 😉 Ed

Eddie, cool to have you up here👍 Always good to have mountains that sweep down to the sea - in County Down or County Kerry. The Mournes were looking well for your visit☀ and the cloud coming in below an over the summits was cool. Slieve Donard is a busy one most of the time. Good choice on continuing to the Hare's Gap and returning by the Brandy Pad and getting those mighty views over Ben Crom Reservoir in person👍 That water from the blue pipe is some of the coolest and best tasting anywhere. I think the horses are part of the plan to reduce the pressure of sheep grazing (which don't leave much of anything behind).Well done on completing the Provincial High Points👍

Nice video! Great to see those scenes again - with a bit of 'proper' weather! I've had a few trips over to Kerry & the Reeks, and enjoyed a few circuits of the Coomloughra horseshoe, plus the route up Cruach Mhòr and over the tops to come down the Ladder. 20 years back, it wasn't rare to have the entire range to yourself on a weekday - though I did bump into a lone shepherd doing his job in the middle of the Beenkeragh ridge along the way! Your video has reminded me of all this, so thanks! :)
