_________________________________________________________
The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.

I get intrigued about the people in these photos etc as well. The decorative ornate headstones are true testament of how families poured their grief into having these gravestones made for how much they loved their loved ones. The fashions in these are truly romantic and indicative of the fashion at those times. The children and babies are heart breaking. I love the compassion and respect you show to all in those cemeteries including those who gave their ultimate for their countries. Love these videos and the histories behind all. Thank you. Keep them coming. I find them soothing.

I love these photos, this is new to me, not something I’ve ever been used to but it’s a beautiful thing. I’m an amateur genealogist and have spent many years wandering round cemeteries when I was able. I would have loved to have seen photos on each stone. It’s very likely that the mother Victoria died either during childbirth or in the post partum period when the women were usually in bed for 10 days or so and died from clots to the lungs or infection in the pre antibiotic era. It’s common for the child to survive.

26:29 -Pasquale "Crazy Patsy" Stefanelli was a member of the notorious 42 Gang. He was killed by the Chicago police. Angelina and Josephine were his sisters. Julia was their mother. I just can't imagine this woman's pain with the loss of 3 of her 4 children, 2 of them in the same month and another less than 2 years later. They were 21, 22, and 19 y/o respectively. Poor Julia didn't live too long either.

I noticed the Pontone monument at 7:48 and wanted to mention something about that. At the bottom, it mentioned that it was erected in memory of another family member, Anthony, who was killed during WWII in 1943 during the liberation of Italy. My mother told me that many Italian-American boys specifically volunteered to participate in Italy's liberation. The military was delighted to accommodate their request whenever it was possible as most of the boys were immigrants or first-generation Americans and could speak Italian. It was also personal for many of the soldiers, as they still had family "in the old country".

Thanx for your time and l love the videos. The cemetaries and grave stones and statues are beyond beautiful. The pictures make me wonder what went on in their lives. Young or older they have a story. I watched a video from a young man 1st time and it was a cemetary in Halifax Canada? Hope i remember correctly. I do remember it was 121 graves from the titantic and all that was on the stone was the date of death, the early morning that titanic sank then different numbers underneath like 29 or 87 or 56 and the #'s reprensented the order of which when they were taken out of the sea. So very very sad.

Keep doing what you do. I like visiting graves. It was a pastime favorite of my mother when she was alive. Memorial pictures for headstones are made out of quality porcelain, which is the ceramic material best suited to outdoor usage as it absorbs almost no moisture. This allows them to endure rain, snow, or whatever Mother Nature throws at them year after year. My parents have pics on their headstone w/a lifetime guarantee. I had to have it replace when a rock from a lawn mower cracked it. Love your channel ~ never miss an episode.
