I have to do the installation in my 2008 E250 van my question is, if it has the factory plug the wires must be in the rear of the vehicle, is that correct?

That's correct. If it's equipped with the tow package, the factory wiring is located behind the bumper on the driver's side. www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/etrailer/5506.html

Excellent instructions! Thank You. I do however have one suggestion for you about stripping stranded wires. 1st cut the insulation as normal with the proper size die BUT DO NOT pull off the insulation. 2nd Remove the tool and use your fingers to twist the insulation but DO NOT pull the insulation off immediately, 3rd While twisting pull the insulation off. The result is the most perfectly formed twisted wires you have ever seen. If you simply use the stripper to push off the insulation you cannot twist the strands into a tightly twisted bundle. This tightly twisted bundle has increased mechanical strength for forming the crimp within the crimp connector. The final result is a better electrical connection that is a better electrical conductor and a stronger mechanical attachment. When I have to do troubleshooting I too often find the problem is caused by poor crimp connections on loose as a Goose stranded wire.

Sir, if this excellent instructional video was confusing to you, then you should not try to wire up a critical need Brake Controller. You will probably create an unsafe condition such that the Trailer Brakes fail and cause an accident or you burn up your truck's wiring. It does not cost all that much to let a professional install the Brake Controller and you will be protecting the public and you will have peace of mind.
