Four mountain bikers were witnessed riding the North Country National Scenic Trail in the proposed Minister Valley Wilderness Area on Wednesday, April 21, 2010.
The first pair were witnessed at approximately 6:05 p.m. riding west to east on the NCT at the triple forks area. The second pair were witnessed riding west to east on the NCT just west of Forest Road 419 at approximately 7:00 p.m.
Mountain biking is permitted in the Allegheny National Forest on certain designated trails, such as the Tanbark Trail and Morrison Trail. However, it is not permitted anywhere along the NCT, and it is not permitted in proposed wilderness areas such as Chestnut Ridge, Minister Valley, Tracy Ridge, and others.
