@@DickingAboutTV I'm going through some bad times myself and it's incredible the difference being out on the bike makes. As you say it doesn't change anything and nothing goes away, but I can deal with things so much better when I've had a ride. I never realised how many people are in a similar boat and use MTB to help with anxiety or depression. It's such a fantastic community to be a part of. Chin up and keep those pedals turning, we're all here for you 👍✊

Mate. Thanks so much for sharing this. It's OK not to be OK. I think many MTBers battle with mental health issues. What draws us to MTB is that release from the struggles. It is fantastic that you were able to open up and encourage acceptance of an issue that some of us perceive to be laden with stigma. Sorry for your loss Richard. Thinking of you for sure. Take care and stay safe 👍

Sorry man. Is a rough time. I lost my mother over 15 years ago, now. Back then, skateboarding was my thing, getting out for a push about gave me the headspace I needed to help me through it. These days, mountain biking gives me that same headspace. Thank you for the video.

So sorry for your loss, really tough times. I would also like to say how important your message is. Funny how spinning the cranks let's your brain process things. I never come back from a ride in a bad mood...even when it's sub zero and I've had a mechanical. Best wishes!

Mate, I’m very very sorry to hear about your loss, please know that I’m thinking of you and I’m here if you need me 🙏🏻. 4 years ago I went through the same and I also struggled in ways that were alien to me. Mountain biking kept me sane, focused and gave me the strength I needed to continue my life. My Mum was a big supporter of me and my MTBing since the late 80’s which also gave me comfort but for over a year I really struggled. Since then, I’ve found new strength and motivation through KZbin and I’ve met some seriously awesome people, one of whom I’m writing this message to😉. Thanks for sharing not only this video but another side of you. It makes me feel that I’m not the only one still affected by grief and that it is ok to feel crap sometimes but also to know I can talk about it. Best wishes and much love buddy 🙏🏻🤗.

Losing a parent, family member or friend is never easy. No words can ever fill the void or ease the loss but time and reflection is a great healer and time on a bike is the best so this very much makes sense. ❤

Powerful stuff mate. Sorry for your recent loss. No matter who we are we all suffer sometimes. I completely agree that more often than not its the simple things that can really help when we are feeling low. Like going for a little ride, or reaching out to someone and asking them to go for a quick spin. These have helped me in the past. It may seem small but is can be life changing. It’s often the case that the person reaching out has no idea how powerful their gesture is to someone else. Great video mate!

sorry for your loss. thank you for making this video. its god to know im not the only one who has gone through something like this and found solice in mtb.. i lost my mum to cancer the day before my birthday in 2016. i had always been a rider but just as my mode of transport. from the time of her death i found a love for off road mountain biking as a way of dealing with my greif , something to give me some ' me time' alone with my thoughts away from the day to day pressures of being a single parent dad and bills etc.. since then i started the trail buddies uk fb group to creat a social network for people to meet up and ride with others in their area. ive made some really great life long friends through the group and found that mtb has been my saviour from falling into a world of self pitty and dispare.. mtb has helped with my physical health and most deffinitly my mental health..
