You can also use flavored gelatin (like Jello). I make it all the time, especially during the holidays. I use the same recipe as he does, except I use more popcorn than 1/3 c. I just substitute the gelatin for the Koolaid. It's delicious and so pretty, too.

Funny that you just posted this. I just saw your bubblegum popcorn and wondered if I could make it with kool-aid. I'm going to make it with grape and Cherry Kool-Aid and with some banana candy flavoring I ordered. In the fall we are going to Frankenmuth, Michigan and I love candy popcorn from a store they have there. But my kid has severe allergies and I have to make all his food. I'm sure he will be happy because he loves candy and popcorn.
