All you need to make a soda slushy is the bottle of soda and a freezer. Shake the soda vigorously while it's still sealed and put it instantly in the freezer for around 3 hours and 15 minutes. Then take it out and open it super slowly releasing the pressure. Pour into a chilled glass and the super cooled liquid will instantly turn into a delicious frozen slushy! There's a video on it, super awesome trick.

You do know that just popping the top to release pressure from a 2 liter of mountain dew, and then placing the lid back and putting the whole bottle in the freezer for three hours will do the same thing. Only it doesn't take six hours, or added sugar, and doesn't need to be mixed in a blender? The only thing you need to accurately calculate is the exact amount of time you need to reach the consistency of your slush. For a quick example I mostly do this until it slushes as soon as you Crack the cap. Easier to do with smaller sizes in the classic glass bottles. They are room temperature, placed into freezer for exactly one hour. They look normal until you open it and you can watch as it lightly slushes,but remains perfectly drinkable. Just saying there's a much easier way. But your method definitely makes for a longer more Interesting video.

Or .... you an put the 20 oz bottle in the freezer and take it out right before it freezes. Then cut the top of the bottle off and enjoy. I used to do this all the time. Depends on your freezer how long to put it in for.

Recently I’ve been making my own slushees so I figured I’d see how my recipe differs from others. I freeze the ice cubes only for an hour so that their at a slushee consistency. Then I drained any liquid still left and re-froze them into slush ice cubes. Then I just put them in one big cup and mashed them until it became a slushee. Only takes 2 and half hours to make. I thought about making it with a blender but mine is terrible. I do love how you put extra sugar in though! Everyone knows Mountain Dew doesn’t put enough in. All in all I love the recipe! I’ll have to try making it if I ever get decent blender. Amazing video!

Y’all, there’s a way to make these that’s a million times easier and faster, and it makes it legit perfect. The best slush ever. Get a bottle Mountain Dew, shake it up and place it in the freezer for about 4 hours or longer, also place a glass in the freezer so it gets frosted. The liquid in the bottle won’t be solid once you take it out of the freezer, so when you open it, you’ll need to let all of the air out of the bottle slowly when opening, then once all of the air is released, pour it into the frosted glass and it Weill freeze immediately and be the softest, best tasting slush you’ve ever had. Another way if you don’t have a glass to frost or forgot to is just give it one quick shake after taking it out of the freezer and it will instantly freeze into a slushie in the bottle, then just pour into a glass.
