It crept up on us so fast. We were working on the mountain doing our summer maintenance, monitoring the fire and then so quickly it jumped to right on top of us. Luckily we all made it off the mountain safely and in time to get home and evacuate.

We went through this at Sierra at Tahoe. They are probably down for one year. They will need to cut down hazard trees, replace haul ropes and chairs, the wrestling, wheels hoses, electronics, etc., 3:07 and they will likely need to replace a few lift towers. In short, their will be a gargantuan amount of work to do, which can't be done once it starts snowing. However, it's just one season.

@@walalopez6735 Yes, just AWFUL what happened to so much of Malibu, Agoura, Calabasas, and some of Westlake Village and Oak Park. …..to this DAY, I can’t understand HOW they could let the fire jump the 101 at Agoura Hills at 2am!! I was thinking the same. Maybe it is a chemical the resort adds to the snow. I wonder what causes that color.

100 tri axle 53' water tanker trailers loaded ready to go with city trucks at all times in the southwest
@GarrettKovalАй бұрын
Would be a drop in the bucket. I’m a snowmaker myself. A small snowmaking system can pump 2,000GPM a minute, I’m guessing mountain high can pump more. 100 tankers at 7,500 gallons each = 750,000 gallons, pumped at 2,000 GPM only gets you 6 and a half hours of run time. honestly, 2000 gallons a minute sprayed over a mountain that size is barely enough to matter….. Even if you had other ways to utilize that 750,000 gallons of water, it’s still such a small amount for the vast amount of terrain that would need to be wetted down in a wild fire scenario. My point is, your ideal is completely inadequate and would be a massive waste of time and money spent.
