I did trapping when I was a kid - in Tasmania - it’s illegal now , like everything else in australia- but I’m real glad we don’t need to do it anymore,it’s the cruelest way to kill an animal.

how long do the Marten hang there with one foot trapped before they die ???
@reuben4710
@reuben4710 5 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure in Alaska, but in Canada you legally have to check your trap every 24 hours. I've never had something already dead in my trap, and I trap in the same temperatures. My guess is that they dispatch it off camera, and then walk up and get it once it's already dead.

as aggressive as they are, marten are delicate little things. they probably hang twenty minutes to half an hour until they die from a lack of blood circulating and the pressure put on their heart. i can guarantee that they are not dispatched while hanging there. they die very quickly after stepping in the trap. in most of Alaska trap checks are 48 hours, some longer, some shorter. The shorter trap checks are closer to the urbanized areas, where dogs can get caught (and dogs should never be let out to run loose)

Was just watching animal planet & this show just so happened to be on at the time and the very last thing I want to see is a wolverine get clubbed upside the head before being shot in the back of its neck. I know they’ve got to do this but it’s the last thing I want to witness. Killing a wolverine for simply being what it is... a wild creature just trying to survive.

Yeah, it's a sad part of life, where pretty much everything is predator or prey. I have a fascination with the outdoor aspect of hunting and fishing, but at my age, I hate putting a hook thru a worm or minnow. I suppose I'm getting "soft".

a) you are factually incorrect, and b) why the heck are you here, if you dislike what is happening? go live your own life according to how you want to live it, and leave others to live their lives as they see fit.
