I'm near Toronto, Ontario and I started a small 2' x 3' patch in my front yard and the pollinators flock to it. At least 10 bees (just bees) are in the plants throughout the day and sometimes up to 20. BTW, someone on YT did a test of a mouse deterrent using peppermint oil. He had a box with a glass top and 2 entry holes on 2 sides. Bait was put into the box and the peppermint oil, too. The video showed the mice going up to the holes but they wouldn't set foot inside the box. Other deterrents didn't work. So I would say it's not a myth that mice and rats don't like mint. I've noticed that I don't have as many flies around the front of my house because I also grow peppermint in contained areas near my front door. Next year I'm going to plant more mint near my other doors. Thanks for the great video!

Great info about the case study. Mint just has so many uses on a farm that most don’t utilize. I like this variety because of its height and drought resistance. Have a great week and thanks again for the feedback.

I've got a bunch of seed and definitely going to get it going. Will a thick row of it deter deer from crossing through it to get to good eatin on the other side?

Great question but I cannot give you an answer. My sheep eat it when I rotational graze but it is not their first of second choice. It can’t hurt to try. Sorry I cannot be more helpful. Have a great week.
