Photography is one of my hobbies, I only have 2 influencers in my photography life and one of them is you, Sir. First time when I found your channel and I saw the first video I subscribed right away from the intro. I love the life you live and I would like to live this way, to travel everywhere and do expeditions and other stuff but what nobody talks about is family life, a wife and kids. I am married, and we have a daughter if I have to give up my job to do all this stuff is not gonna work. What are your thoughts about family life are you gonna do this all your life? Are gonna get your job back?

Awesome! I have a course that covers all that stuff, step by step, inside my online school. Email me if you're interested. Dave@DaveMorrowPhotography.com

Hi Dave, glad to see your video and I am enjoying your online school courses still! Interesting to hear how you shortened your shutter speed to get the sharper outline of the peaks vs the 1 sec previous setting that didn't show the outline as much. I would not have thought about that since my world is studio work I don't change my ss very much. but I know that a slower speed will will increase the ambient light in a studio ( I call that dragging the shutter) mainly to get more light into a background. but the landscape world is a lot different and I just find it interesting how that technique works. I think in your video you were at 1/6 ss? it made such a big difference in the shot when you shortened your ss. It really is a nice shot with the pink peak! note: so you actually hear avalanches during the night!?

I like all your videos and the detail lessons. Thanks for the inspiration Dave! But it is interesting for me, if you are using a tripod and the shutter speed is not so important, why the ISO is 200 and not 64 for example? Why you choose higher ISO?
@kathieodonnell68823 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave - per usual vicariously enjoyed your video. I also follow the Natl. Parks at Night group and they mentioned Sherry Pincus. Ever hear of her? - apparently like you she does extended backpacking trips and night photography. The other thing I wanted to comment on....due to watching your videos, I purchased a Nikon f2.8 14-24 mm lens for a retirement present to myself. It did a soft plop fall (probably less than 6 inches as I was shooting low). into the sand dunes in Colorado. Luckily I insured it and hopefully now it is being fixed as I noticed scratches and got a big flare on images where the sun caught the scratch. But, even before that I had a feeling about the lens not being quite right but wasn't sure. So, basically, if you can sometime, tell us how to determine if something is not right about a lens we purchase or how to test it. You know that one is a spendy lens. Also, since you've mentioned it is one of your more used lenses in landscape photography I'd like to learn how to use that lens to it's fullest potential. Thanks! Kathie

Hey Dave, Thanks for your videos. Always appreciate you, and what you do! I guess my only question would be specifically related to daytime shots: When you find yourself buried below a peak for a sunrise/sunset, any reason you prefer to "play it as it lies" vs. throwing up a drone (I.e. M2P) to capture a multi-stitch pano a little higher up? Is it just the cold weather/altitude/batteries that dissuade you from doing that (or perhaps you're in a national park, and can't)? Anyways, just curious. Have an amazing day!

Hi Dave, Your website said to contact you via KZbin vs. email. I'd like to shoot the Northern Lights this year. Are you doing any tours or can you recommend some other tours? Any preference (Alaska, Iceland, Norway)?

Hey Garett, good to hear from you. I'm not doing any northern lights this year. Personally, I'd go to Alaska. Iceland is a mass tourist trap now. The place is kinda ruined...
