Matt is almost reluctant about going to Everest, although he participates fully and is a magnificent photographer and filmmaker. Great interview, thank you for sharing!

@@EverestMystery Thanks, funny bloke and also quite interesting to hear that perspective. From the summit, he mentions looking over the north side, as does Hillary. I have often tried to find photos of the view from up there, trying to get a better understanding of the distances up there and the slope declivity, wondering to what extent a thorough scouting with binoculars or something would help solving the M&I mystery. I suppose one just can't stay up there long enough to do that... And can one actually spot Mallory's resting place from the summit?

So many hazards on Everest. Altitude, exposure, crowds, crevasses,exhaustion, the Ice field. The worst though has got to be, “Getting ass blasted by the sun” on the way to camp three.

Dude is a great interviewee. Does he do any other Himalayan climbing filming, or is E the only 8k peak he climbs?
@EverestMystery2 жыл бұрын
He's a technical climber, mountain trail runner...has filmed tons of archaeological digs in Africa, super talented drone flyer (did a bunch on Everest in 2019), but otherwise this is his only 8,000 meter peak experience.

Thanks for watching, and I totally get the idea that we are all climbing our own mountains. Keep an eye out for avalanches, we gotta keep each others' backs!

@@EverestMystery right on, I’m joining in a meetup group where we are doing a avalanche probe simulation. I don’t own one yet but I can get on all 4’s and make like avalanche dog 🤭🤭

Wonderful Interview ,, Hats off you both, Respected (Lhakpa Sherpa) on Netflix Platform is a remarkable to all of us, hearing her story & dedication inspired me a lot. She has brought our Nepal/Himalays internationally known through her Climbing. If we concentrate what are we (Nepalese) good at? What are the “god gifted” to us? Definitely, either Climbing or Warrior We have a huge advantage (Nepal’s average altitude is higher so that we are good at hight sustainability(respects to Sherpas) and Being warrior is our in DNA. Sherpas & Gurkhas are well known in the world. When we were talking Oscar winning films & being inspired from “Parasite or Everything Every all at once” definitely its time (Mountain Queen) and we motivated so much, thanks to L. Sherpa and entire her team. Lastly Director MQ Walker, from all the you are in hearts of all the Nepalese 💪🏻👍🫡
