You plan to upgrade to the 16” coil? Good stuff, thanks for sharing your experience/knowledge.
@MountaineerMatt8 ай бұрын
I have the 16" mono and DD coils. Haven't found gold with it yet but it's only a matter of time and usually only use it in places that have been cleaned of any trash

Nice pieces Matt ! We call that placering . While I love the fit & feel of the MS3 headphones, I dont care for the tone that comes out of them. Seems dull and not high pitched.
@MountaineerMatt8 ай бұрын
My biggest gripe about the MS3 headphones is how easily and often they lose connection. The wireless sure is convenient though!

@MountainMatt , why was Doug running the Equinox 800? Doesn't he have the SDC-2200? I thought about picking up the Equinox 900, it's on sale right now, but was told I should only get at least an SDC-2300 for serious prospecting. Any thoughts on that Matt?
@MountaineerMatt8 ай бұрын
I'm sure Doug will leave a comment too, but he's using the nox 800 because there is a significant amount of small gold in this area that is too small for a pulse induction detector to find, like the 2200, 2300 and Axiom. The 800 happens to perform well in the ground in this area. There are places a VLF detector just can't handle and that's where the PI machines really shine. My advice is always to start with a VLF metal detector and graduate up to the PI machines. Good luck!

Hello, I have a 2200, 2300 and a Nox 800. My 2300 was out for Minelab service last fall, and I decided to go test out the gold mode on the Nox, OMG, OMG, didn't realize how much gold was left behind, the club hunted this pit for a decade. The gold is mostly tiny little no see em size, 1/3 grain. But consistently average about a gram a day. Haven't seen a skunk in months. 😁

The 2300 is my water/river detector. Love my 2300. Can't wait to get back in the rivers.

if you lower the recovery speed on gold mode 1 & 2. the 6" coil will go quite deep.

Let's see a pan out of that pocket as well. I'm curious if the spec count is high looks like it could be

When you don't need your detector, you can shut it off and save your battery for longer searches
@1CarsonChris8 ай бұрын
The Axiom has an incredibly long battery life. I've used mine for 8 hours and had it drop 1 bar. 16 hours battery life, maybe more.
