Considered endangered or threatened in many states, Chamaelirium luteum or ‘Fairy Wand/False Unicorn Root’ has become somewhat mythical to the modern herbalist. As cultivation can be difficult, it is rarely commercially grown and therefore almost impossible to find on the market. It offers a unique opportunity for exploration and experimentation. Here is the link Joe mentions as worthwhile research (and more in it’s Reference section):

We've lost an icon. Broke my heart when I heard he had passed. I only just discovered his channel. He had such a wide and rich wealth of knowledge. I hope he was able to pass it down and that there are people in his entourage who can manage to carry on his mission as he hoped. Rip Joe Hollis... You'll be remembered!

I had wondered, I only just found his station when seeking more information on the chinese vining yam... It was posted in 2013, so I went to see some recent videos to see if he was still around. Now I know. I suppose that means my message to him on the former video won't get through. :(
