I agree with this guy. Safety (potential injuries from moves) is so important to watch out for.

This is the best explanation and demonstration of the mounted triangle that I have seen so far. Also, explaining the concept that mount is the same as guard was a light bulb moment for me. I hadn't thought of it that way before. Thank you Coach Tom, your lessons are solid gold.

I just woke up 15 minutes ago & watched this video. I love your precise explanation. I've never knew this method. Guys at my gym are always getting me in S-mount, but I can never do it to any of them because I'm not flexible. You made this step by step crystal clear. Rolling to my back to finish will really help. I liked your spaceship metaphor (guard same as mount). --- "This is ground control to major Tom...." Thanks, again!

this is great, because i keep losing mount when i attempt a traditional armbar during the transition where I move my legs up. using this I can bypass that while I learn what im doing wrong, and hopefully tap some of my bros while doing so.

Thanks a lot for this video. Great explanation! I have a question though. I've been playing around with this while rolling and I tend to get swept before I can pin the hand and get my leg under the head. How should I posture to keep my balance?
@TheGrapplingAcademy6 жыл бұрын
Simply make sure you are above their hip line and balance the opposite way to the roll. Attacking posture in mount is totally different to a control posture so perhaps try to control mount longer first and then when you are ready, hit this move with full gusto! (-: Coach Tom Davey

Hi teacher, at 2:11, you crossed legs over even though his fist is still inside your guard, plus connected. Will the triangle still be able to be held? Will he be able to pull his trapped arm out?
@TalesIncs2 жыл бұрын
also its important because, if this really works, it means i can ignore the holding their arms together and just cross over! in the past it was this holding arm together which i keep trying to get rid of when trying to slide my leg through to the neck.
@TalesIncs2 жыл бұрын
also if the arms are holding each other the armbar may not be available, as you might not be able to pull the arm out. please advice on that so i can make it work!
