Friends mounting a scope is something you can do. There are jobs that clearly need a competent Gunsmith, blue printing and bedding actions, trigger work, etc... however, mounting a scope is a task that most of us can do effectively, with the correct tools. Also make sure you're working with quality rings and bases, I personally like Warne Maxima rings and bases...and they've served me well for many, many years. You're going to need some Loctite low and medium strength, a small bubble level and a Wheeler Fat Wrench. The Loctite you can find at most hardware stores or Midway USA, which is also where you can pick-up the Fat Wrench. It's not that hard, but make sure you take your time, and don't rush such an important job. At one point in this video, I used the term "horizonal", however I meant to say "vertical", sorry for the confusion, hopefully you still understood the point I was making. Also make sure you have enough eye relief, especially at the highest power magnification...this will ensure you won't get scoped during the rifles recoil.
Lastly, a huge shout-out to my friends at Gunsite, there's not a finer facility in the firearms industry...I've trained with many world-class instructors, however, the folks at Gunsite are at the top of the list.
