Sir, I salute your versatile engineering brilliance. I do small fabrications myself and I am glad i watched. by the way, wouldnt the Vice spoil the threads of the bolts while held tight in it?

I don't recall how I did this video, but guessing I either was very gentle with vice pressure or discarded the part I pressed in the vice. I've also been known to line my vice jaws with a softer metal like aluminum when it is appropriate.

Hi Urban Monk, love the vids! Can I ask why not just drill out the bracket on the light to fit the bigger bolt rather than go through all the work of drilling out and tapping? By the way I use 2 aluminium angles in the vice for this type of work. It allows for more force before ruining the threads. Great work all the same!

Thanks for watching! Agree on the aluminum angle idea. I actually do that too sometimes when I think I absolutely need to. As for drilling the bracket instead, I honestly don't recall why I chose to do it this way. Was some time ago now. Guessing it would have left very little material on the brackets, but not entirely sure of that.

HI for a start I would have put the nut peice in the vice & tightened to hell. Then cut your threads off without any risk of damage. So I lost interest.
