There were at least 2 comments asking what did they do with caskets, but in this video the caskets were burned with the person inside of them. I guess it depends on the crematory.

One thing I want to clear up for anyone who has been wondering, you DO NOT have to have a casket encasing the body in order for it to be cremated. It just needs to be encased in something. I've known for larger scale crematories that cremate between 40-50 corpses per day to just use duct tape and plastic sheeting or trash bags then place the corpse into a cardboard box before being chunked into the cremator to make the process cheaper and faster before the sifting process etc Which is why I recommend anyone interested in being cremated to talk to morticians that work at smaller or family owned crematories or funeral homes where cremation is done that way there's more respect given to the deceased and you're less likely to be given the wrong ashes as larger facilities place the remains in identical boxes.

A container is usually required for cremation, even if it's just a cardboard box. If you don't want to purchase a casket, you can often rent one from the funeral home, the cardboard box will be placed into it for the viewing, then removed & cremated w/the body.
@jessicar45366 жыл бұрын
James, Stacey, and Kristi Crutchfield Jr I think the cremation services offered by funeral homes are a flat rate, that includes the burning of the coffin. They would have to dispose of them somehow, not like they are going to get used twice. they are probably considered biohazard/medical waste considering what they are used for, & that kind of stuff isn't cheap to get rid of either.

All the organic material (flesh and casket) will burn and vaporize. What remains is mostly bone, and most of that breaks into small chunks. Any remaining chunks are ground into a sand-like power. A down-side to cremation is that any dental fillings will vaporize as well... adding toxins to the atmosphere. Oh, and the funeral home will remove dental gold from the deceased. No point in wasting it.

@peterelbee6 жыл бұрын
The cremation process requires there to be some sort of receptacle in which the deceased can be placed. This is because it is being loaded into a chamber that is already up a very high temperature, which is needed in order for the process to work. It is similar to the way people tend to make sure the oil in a pan is hot before putting anything they wish to cook into it. It is highly likely anyone reaching into such a chamber would receive second degree burns. It would naturally seem a better idea to use cardboard but paper tends to turn more into soot than ash. It is also natural for people to form all sorts of ideas and theories as to what happens during this process as it is usually done away from the public. Viewing the casket can be arranged but because of extreme temperatures I think most crematoriums would disallow the public to be in the vicinity of what is going at the risk of someone getting severely burned (its is such things that large law suits are made of).
@davidrodgers72246 жыл бұрын
Lower chamber is raised to 1750 degrees...body is placed in a cardboard box at minimum, and put into upper chamber...which is room temperature or a little more,but not much...door is lowered,heat is then sent to upper chamber to start cremation process...

When the Vehicle (Body) that has housed your Spirit dies, that Spirit - or Soul- leaves the physical body. Only the shell is left. ❣️ There is *nothing* to fear in regard to death, or the manner in which mortal remains are catered to. The Essence that was *YOU* has already departed. My own preference would probably have been cremation but I feel that my husband would want our bodies to be interred together. That is why the burial plot for the two of us has been selected and paid for. Less hassle for our children to deal with when the time comes. 🌸 I have no idea why this video cropped up in ‘recommended’ haha, but if my thoughts help anyone then that makes me happy. Either way - burial or cremation - we simply have no further use for the *suit of flesh* which has had its day, so to speak. Onwards, and hopefully *Upwards* ....... 🤩 Best wishes everyone!

Ha, I've heard plenty of stories like this one. There are many articles online discussing how the people at the funeral homes will try to up sell the expensive coffins, services, and grave sites, praying on people's naivety during this difficult time. Do your research before dying.

I am the gentle showers of rain, I am the fields of ripening grain. I am in the morning hush, I am in the graceful rush Of beautiful birds in circling flight, I am the starshine of the night. Trust me......the only time they cremate with an actual casket is when there is a family member present to view the deceased going into the retort!!! If there is nobody present to witness, the casket is swapped-out for a cardboard casket, and the original casket is re-sold!! I know this first-hand....it's quite sad. Buyer beware.....if the deceased or family member has opted to purchase a casket, try your best to have someone (perhaps an acquaintance) be present during the beginning of the cremation process.

Both my parents were cremated. I guess I knew how this worked but I've always felt great guilt about consigning them to a fiery end. As for me, I'm opting for a green burial. Wrapped in a cotton sheet and buried on my property up north. Perfectly legal in MN. Just need to have the site surveyed and recorded with the county. No embalming so it has to be done within 36 hrs unless you contract with a funeral home for cold storage.

From most of the cremation videos that I have watched, the bodies are placed in a cardboard box and taped up. Then into the crematory. There is no need for an expensive casket to be purchased or embalming if the deceased is going to be cremated. Some people go through the embalming and the funeral only to have the body cremated later. This is a waste of a lot of money. But if this is the way that the family wants to go, spend all that life insurance money.

It varies depending on local laws. A lot of places require the body to be in an individual container, sometimes for health reasons, sometimes to ensure identification, sometimes for moral or superstitious reasons. Cardboard caskets make the most sense in cremation. It takes a lot of fuel and a lot of time for cremation when the body is in a heavy wooden coffin, though counter-intuitively it is easier to manufacture coffins from chipboard/fibreboard/mdf than cardboard - so the funeral director told me - without being morbid I found the whole process fascinating and me and the funeral director had a long talk about how it all works.

This post has been the most entertaining I’ve read for some time. I guess it proves the saying “Laugh in the face of death, what else can you do”. Some of you have a practical approach to the end, some with a sense of humour and some who wish they had never been born. Well the truth is we’re born, we live and we die but it’s what happens in between that matters so make it matter, be the best you can be. You just might surprise yourself and enjoy yourself. But whatever happens remember what a miracle it is we are living on this little blue planet in the black void of the universe. Appreciate it each day.

My dad passed away a year ago this month. His last request was to not be laid out for a funeral or viewing. He wanted a simple cremation and to be scattered at a later date. When he was cremated, he was shipped unembalmed in a cardboard box labeled for human remains. Once they loaded him into the cremulator and got ready to start, we pushed the button to start his cremation...and that was it (we picked his ashes up days later at the funeral home) though it wasn’t a traditional funeral it is what he wanted after all.

Someone has to do it, it may as well be someone who is suited for it.

notice how they use a casket and not cardboard? hmmm its always tied to money isnt it?

Huge profits for casket. Cremation itself is rather inexpensive so they don't make much on that part. kind of like a restaurant makes its money off drinks and not the food.

You can use a cardboard box actually. Funeral homes usually have special rental caskets that have cardboard liners and a door at the bottom that allows the liner with the body to be slid out. Then that box is what's cremated. Cremating a multi thousand dollar casket is a terrible financial move but the funeral business absolutely will prey on people who don't know better. That's why it's best to research this stuff well before dying.

casey brinegar Why the hell would anybody cremate their loved one in cardboard pieces? Wouldn’t you want somebody in casket instead of CHEAP CARDBOARD that just shows how much you don’t give a shit about them? Also, how do you put a body in cardboard box?

we used cardboard, why spend money u don't have,,,,,,there is no shame, With the drapes u never know , But to have a showing u need to rent one, which is as much as buying,,,,,,,,,,,,u also must go thru the entire process embalming etc, BUT the funeral home some will allow up to 15 people to stay 30 minutes with the body in the cardboard and then to the oven, Its beautiful, They come in the world as natural as they go out, Ask the director when making arrangements also check fees not needed like mileage to pickup refrigeration etc, U can cremate for 800 vs the costs they throw on u, We cut the bill by 2/3 in extras, Or donate to University costs nothing you get them back in 5 months and pay nothing a memorial stone is also put in the walk of life for them, That's what we are doing,

There is no equivalent of Islam in honoring the dead, shrouding him and burying him, and this is from the grace of God upon us. Praise be to God for the blessing of Islam and Muslims.
