Malfeasance is fantastic, especially for beginners. Coming back to this game in season of arrivals after not playing since warmind, I took a look at the exotics list and looked for anything that stood out. I was immediately drawn to Malfeasance, as it had really high stats, and my few games of crucible taught me that everyone was using hand cannons. Doing the special version of the corrupted was tough, as I didn't know you weren't meant to solo it, but it was worth the grind, being a fantastic reintroduction to this game, as well as a very easy to use and forgiving weapon. I wish there were more exotic quests like it; secretive, difficult quests that made the gun feel earned/ launching an exotic mission from the director just doesn't hit the same.

malf is a beast. Once someone is hit with 5 slugs they explode and die. These slugs do not need to be from the same gun so in theory, 5 guys could shoot 1 shot and the enemy will die instantly. Also the slugs have a stupid range.

Problem is that you could literally say that about most primaries in the game. If you have the teams to team shot consistently almost any pulse, scout, 120, 140 etc would be better and kill faster. The only place this gun is tip tier is against supers really.

Malfeasance has always been a good weapon lol Five tap from any distance. A peek-shooter’s nightmare, and near max stability. If you can hit the shot five times you can kill. It will kill someone through a glaive shield, through a well of radiance, or through loreley. If you can hit them five times in a row, they WILL die.

If you can hit them 5 times... By the time you hit your 4th shot on them you are already dead. It's a meh weapon imo. Played a couple games with it and only got ut to proc a couple times. It's a good roaming super shutdown but that's pretty much it lol

Hand cannon dexterity is definitely needed with it but I'm loving it, it also helps counter the healing meta everyone's currently using. It's in air accuracy for some reason feels pretty decent as well

do keep in mind lucky pants can help with both handling and in-air-accuracy. - in PVE the lucky pants damage swap also counts per detonated slug when the perk triggers, meaning it can do some absurd boss damage even compared to a heavy weapon.

Wallah, the reason this is so good is because before the 180 buff it would be able to 5 body all resil because of the slugs at 1.33 seconds. The 5 slugs can actually kill supers with 5 bodyshots landed on all resil. It's pretty nice and nuts man

I've been using it even before the buff because it's just so useful. It essentially has infinite range because as long as you hit your target 5 times in a relatively fast pace, your target is dead [in pvp] With the buff, I tend to just kill people anyway before the slugs can explode and kill them, which makes it a solid hand cannon in general now. So if you're running a close-range build and you need a long range weapon, but don't wanna use like a pulse or sm, just pull this out. It's a great way to piss off anyone at range who's like "Wow he's doing so little damage to me, I might as well sit down and let him shoot at me and I'll be fine" and then they just explode, or people who are peak-shotting you too much

Also since Malfeasance has a base AE of 28 + 15 for the Precision HC frame + 10 bc of Extended Mag = 52 and that is more than enough you need to get perfect in air accuracy (48 for HCs)

I will admit that this is 100% not worth an exotic slot, but I always loved this gun just because of how good it feels, when Hipfiring this thing works really wells because of the high stability, almost no recoil and sticky aim assist. Even if it isn't a great exotic, I really enjoy using it for duels because you can move a lot without having to slow down and aim down sight.

malfeasance is cool because it kills in 5 shots no matter the range. technically making it the highest range handcannon in the game, and it kills any roaming super in 5 shots, the aoe explosions can help assist the next kill though its rare, and finally it completely denies players of using healing rift, healing grenade, restoration, oversheilds and damage resist.

The gun feels great I was using it myself yesterday and found it fun. However it being an exotic its perk is great but only if your not killing in 4 shots. The perk kicks in if you hit 5 shots if im not mistaken and most enemies die in 4 not to mention if you got some other buffs going your going to fry. To me it just felt like and ordinary 180 that just happened to be an exotic not worth using an exotic for it unless you found a build to fully maximize its perk. That being said if anyone is playing the bonfire I highly recommend using it there cause my lord Is this gun insane in pve especially against taken obviously

Try the buff on a god roll Vulpecula or Survivor's Epitaph. I have a Survivor with 52 range, Killing Wind, and Kill Clip, and I was competing further than a maxed range 120, especially with Radiant. If Radiant and Kill Clip are active, it can almost 2 tap, but if you have High Energy Fire, it can with Kill Clip. I just got out of an undefeated/ We Ran match with almost all my kills being 3 taps. Almost had a few 2 taps, but they were too far away.

this gun is so good in a ton of scenarios. Medium to long range? kaboom. duel? kaboom. oh no, that warlock has a void healing rift with full overshield and stag? kaboom. that titan got recovering from sunspots? yeah, sure bud. let's see you heal from explosives. and it even slaps in pve. theres a big guy? you know what word i'm going to use. wish it looked better, though. would make me use it as often as i could.

I love malfeasance I just never use it because it's been bad for so long and unfortunately it's still bad in PvE but it feels great to use, sounds good, and I love having 20 rounds in the mag for PvE and PvP but the gun is not as good when playing solo and being the only one using it but in a group of 3 or more it's pretty nasty
