+Ramy Accad you know what, though, that's not a bad thing; all great bands need to be supported while they figure it out. Look at Radiohead - it took them 8 years to find their signature sound. Pablo Honey is seen as a meh album largely. But they had the security to become the phenomenon they are. So many bands/musicians don't, get snuffed out, and pack in the music. That's why when people criticise the lack of working class bands in Britain, it's worth noting that there are potential great acts playing in pubs every night that just need backing. Labels are way way way too focused on the 'finished package' to push their shitty buzz bands.

But the opposite of what you say is true as well. Look at Coldplay whose first album is a masterpiece while their following albums are pretty disastrous (compared to Parachute). I believe many bands drift away from their initial genre. Anyways I think Mourn play beautiful music. You can clearly feel that they're influenced by PJ Harvey. I guess it's just a question of taste.
