2019 has been an awful year. I lost a dear sweet friend of 47 years in January, then my family and I lost our beloved Mum on 4th August, then my son had a motorcycle accident, then he was rushed to hospital with a huge kidney stone. Nov 17th/Nov 18th our sweet German Shepherd died. Its literally been one obstacle after another. This whole year I've been in the valley. Today, the first time in months and months I felt the Holy Spirit move in my heart. I believe every church needs a mourning booth. For me personally, I felt neglected from those I thought would be there for me, and like this video says, I just needed someone to sit with me in my mourning booth, in silence, to share in my pain and sorrow.

I had same thing happen to me too. My dad and friends would come to visit me in the hospital and then talk, it felt like a hot poker or a kick in my stomach when they would try to counsel me with the bible or prayer. All I wanted was for them to put there arms around me and let me cry. I know they meant well and I love them, but sometimes silence and a Hug is all we want!

@Chibithy I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed that. Persuading people that are down into joining your cult is despicable to me. Drawing people towards an ideology of lies is not the way to go. If/when they find out it's all lies, it might make them fall into a deeper depression since now what they put all their energy into is gone. They depended on that religion to live and then they'll have to find something else to live for.

My parents are in the process of divorcing and I will admit as a Christian that I have really been struggling with certain things in my Christian life. I just don't understand how God could allow this to happen. I know things don't always turn out the way we want and that God's way of doing things is not our way of doing things, but I am really struggling to understand the purpose in this.

Hello. I just watched the skit on mourning & started to read the comments; yours was the first. I hope you found someone sit with you in your mourning booth. I hope you have made the ascent from the valley of your parents’ divorce and each of them as well. We humans are imperfect and sometimes we cause each other pain. With God’s constant and perfect Love, we may find comfort in & out of our life’s seasons. May the peace that passes all understanding be with you always.

It’s hard for me to share the Bible face to face so I share it in other ways. Like texting people daily verses, helping those in need because I don’t know what else to do. I’m scared of confrontation because when I’ve tried all I got was persecuted except once.

I Corinthians 12:25-26: "That there be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honored, all the members rejoice with it." I know there have been times in my life when the only thing I could do for a brother or sister who was going through the valley was just that: to suffer with them. Just that is worth it--that there be no schism in the body. It's what Jesus did for us.

@aracey20 I used to be that guy. I was in a lot of pain due to family and sin stuff, but the only thing that would comfort me was being around people. So I would hide behind my "everything's OK" mask so that I wouldn't push people away. I think the best thing someone could have done for me, was to ask how I was really doing and not accept "good" for an answer. They could have really invested themselves into my life, and then they would have seen how I really felt. Does that help?

If people were given freedom of choice, doesn't that mean that we have control? Why then do people throw around phrases like "God's plan" or "Everything happens for a reason" ? If God has a plan, why does he give us freedom of choice? If God already knows the future, why are we bothering to go through the motions? He already knows the choices we will make. Any insight anyone?

For me, no one new till years later when they tried to reconnect. If you had good friends from your past you may have to reconnect with them on your own. Very hard I know, but it's what you got to do to get better. At least try to just make your life enjoyable. I was alone for a long time but making my life enjoyable till i got on the right meds and dosage got me through till friends got in touch with me again. Or make new friends to hang out with that care, look for groups to join. Hang in there.

So what do.we do when someone.is depressed
@solrosenberg95528 жыл бұрын
Be a friend. They will isolate and refrain from friends, social, life, etc... They will turn you down, but keep at it once a week or something. They will apreciate it in the long run. I speak from experience. I isolated for years, felt alone and that i had no one after high school and beginning my adult life after my dad died when i had a mental break down. Then after several years my old friends started contacting me or finding me through the internet but they never new i had severe depression and suicide attempts. I initially ignored my friends attempts to reach out to me, but they were luckily good friends and kept bugging me to get together and reconnect or catchup. Just talking and hanging out really helped, and i thanked them for not giving up on me. I talked to them through facebook at first but actually being with them really helped. I eventually got on the right medications and dosage and am doing good now. Good luck.
@sammylamy59067 жыл бұрын

@teamausten hey! I can very much relate :) I try to tell my friends how I feel, but no one really listens... just so you know, I'm here if you need someone to vent to.
